Edit: It'll be called Android 5.0 'Libido', you heard it first here.
Edit2: I forgot it's after desserts, I'm sure it'll be called Android 5.0 'Lime Candy', you heard it first here.

Memes. eh? Endlessly amusing. It's like jokes - when someone has a good joke you just wish you could hear it every single day, because it would never get boring.

      • polesmoker99

Waaaah waaaaahh. Poor baby make a mess in his diaper?

Is this the exact same building that Apple used 3 weeks ago?

    • Guest

It's the building that Apple will use next year to announce Ios 9, so they can keep the slides from the new Android update and tell everyone what ''Apple'' invented!

      • alex0000000001

When Ios reaches 10, will it stay at 10 forever like the mac one does?

    > There are a lot of rich animations, especially expanding circles.

How does a rich animation differ from a regular one? It's one of those words like "deep", isn't it. "Deep integration" as opposed to...integration.

  • wickets

To much flatness, witeness... Tottaly lack of transparency. Me not like:-

  • Mike Harris

I haven't watched one of these before, but does anyone else find it a little odd that there people in the front row using Apple laptops?

    • dakuten

Since Google doesn't sell useful laptops: no.

    • http://www.microwav3d.com/ Mihir Garikiparithi

Nope. Why should it be weird. To build iOS apps, a Macbook is pretty much a requirement, and not too many developers develop just for android because why would they?

  • http://www.microwav3d.com/ Mihir Garikiparithi

Can't believe they couldn't even get their demo to work right. I guess it happens, but this really brings back memories of Blackberry's last conference...

    • David Margolin

there has been at least one failed demo at every i/o since the very beginning... it's really hard to make sure that all of these super beta devices will be able to handle every single demo. Sometimes you write code for an app to do one thing and a tiny mistake makes everything go wrong... this happens quite often at developer conferences.

      • http://www.microwav3d.com/ Mihir Garikiparithi

Don't they do dry runs before hand though? Never seen this at WWDC, Windows events, or even Ubuntu's events... Seems unique to Blackberry and Android.

        • David Margolin

they do but even with practice, with all of the camera changes, from videos, to device screens, to live views, and device changes, from watches, to phones, to tablets, to laptops, to tvs, and sound control, something is bound to go wrong. Windows and Apple events tend to stay away from live demos but instead show videos instead. I've seen a few Ubuntu conferences and see demos fail all the time. There are just different ways to recover from these failures and sometimes the viewer doesn't even notice.

          • http://www.microwav3d.com/ Mihir Garikiparithi

I suppose it does lie in the way the presenter reacts.

  • wickets

what time will playstore be open for clocks?? :)

  • CJ

this is the worst i/o ever

lol bunch of suckers, spent a 1000$ for nothing

  • Akshay Mehta

    protesters all over IO.

  • John Cohen

When they released voice calling for iOS on hangouts last october they said android users would be happy "very soon". Then they told us it would be released in early 2014 well that came and went. Then they said on May 15th all 3rd party Google Voice apps would be shut down, so we all thought that everything would be integrated then. Well that came and went, so we all thought it would be at I/O... well thats about to be over... Where is integration?!?!?

    • moelsen8

yeah somebody should be protesting about this bullsh.

    • Shawn

I was holding off until Google I/O to make a decision about continuing to use Google Voice or to port my number out so I wouldn't have to have a multitude of apps for basic tasks. Guess Google made that decision for me a little easier today. Really disappointed with this one.

    • Madhu Shekhar

This was the only news I am interested in, at I/O. And very disappointed.

  • tym0

Does any one know where I could download the keynote, I don't have Internet at home for the moment, and I don't want to use my data to watch it on YouTube.
