Google Play Movies will likely soon be announcing one of the largest-ever expansions of the service since its launch, adding 21 new nations from around the world. Here's the complete list, because I know that's what you're here for:

  1. Albania
  2. Argentina
  3. Armenia
  4. Azerbaijan
  5. Belarus
  6. Croatia
  7. Czech Republic
  8. Estonia
  9. Greece
  10. Kazakhstan
  11. Kyrgyzstan
  12. Lao People's Democratic Republic
  13. Latvia
  14. Lithuania
  15. Moldova
  16. Poland
  17. Slovakia
  18. Tajikistan
  19. Thailand
  20. Turkmenistan
  21. Uzbekistan

Just in March, Google announced a full 35 newly-supported countries for the service, and in December last year it added 13 more countries. We've already received tips of the service being live from readers in Greece, Moldova, Croatia, Argentina, and Poland, so if you're in one of the listed countries, start checking! You can see the updated list of countries right here, too.

  • Bogdan Mitrache

Why Romania is not in list ?

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

      Because it's not?

    • craftyorb

Because Moldova is :))) AHAHAHA..we are the anus of the world according to services and releases .

      • Oobiewan

But Hungary is much closer to Western Europe than you, and still no play movies D': :)

        • Morgan Jones

          With Viktor Orban you're not

          • Oobiewan

            I wish you weren't perfectly right... :(

        • Andrei

I don't think it has anything to do with geographical position, but with copyrights and legal issues that need to be disputed from country to country.

          • craftyorb

The copyright laws in east Europe are bad, laying the field for corruption and and gov. abuse
They prefer we pirate the movies than have the legal ground to be able to purchase it

        • Digi

So is Ireland :) - Nothing here either

    • Andrei Muresan

that's just stupid, who ever is in charge of releasing these should kill himself ...

      • Morten Ulveseth

You have a good overview of what goes into releasing these services in the various countries, yes? Either way, why does anyone care? It's a shitty service. At these prices, I've never even considered it.

        • Andrei Muresan

It's just the principle of it. Romania should be there in the list with the other countries, that's all I'm saying ...

          • Digi

          • Andrei Muresan

            Why not ?

          • craftyorb

because we are not second class citizens , we keep being overlooked when it comes to services.

          • Digi

A LOT of countries have been overlooked..... Ireland also and we are no second class citizens either.

            So my question still stands

"Romania should be there in the list with the other countries"

          • craftyorb

And my answer stands.i don't feel like starting a political debate because you are being ignorant ,Digi.

Let me give you a short example how Romania is being overlooked (in contrast to Ireland )
            XBOX ...

Microsoft has extended suport and functional services in all the countries where the xbox is officially sold.in Ireland if you want to buy a game from the xbox marketplace ...you can.also if the console has a major hardware flaw, let's say a red ring of death situation ,the Microsoft recall &direct warranty covers that.
Well guess what. ..although Romanian is the second spoken language at the MS facilities is seems no one cares to enforce a warranty or official support for certain products.
You can buy an xbox from almost every damn supermarket in our country but the usability is reduced...Think of it like buying a nexus device in Ireland that didn't have a play store because Google was okay with shipping those devices to a country without hardware warranty coverage but didn't bother to offer marketplace support.

    • Nasko Hristov

I lost hope for countries like ours. You even got Books, we got nothing. Especially in my country, there are 2-3 companies holding the rights for music, 2-3 for movies. We are in the worse position, we are not 1st world, we are not 3rd world (where I bet rights are sold for free, or the countries themself pay to Google to allow these things). :(

  • Damian

Yeah, first Music service, now Movies, great news AP!

  • APOI

Obligatory "Yet Still No Google Play Music for India" :(

  • Tomáš Petrík

    Confirming from Slovakia.
Wow, huge news, did not expect that at all!

    • David

Great... Too bad there's not a single movie from Disney.

      • Tomáš Petrík

There are actually many movies missing. When I tried looking for random movies I like, my success ratio was approx. 2/10.
Some are not available at all, some just not for Slovakia (or other countries, for that matter).

  • Javier

    ARGENTINA FTW again!!!

  • NickSdr

and Greece thank you Goolge now let's go for devices section ;)

  • George Bakos

    Greece finally!!!
    And it just went live!

  • Donald Dragoti

FInally a Google service is available in Albania! I can confirm it is live here.

  • Karlo

I dont know why people are too excited for this in Croatia and even in other countrys.
Yes its good but problem is there is no TV Shows.
Many people here want to watch TV shows not Movies.

They should give us All Access first. There is no any sub service here for music.
I have US account and i live in Croatia(no proxys or VPNs all things work fine).

    • Morgan Jones

Exactly, TV SHOWS will make our day, not bloody movies!

    • Joza Kroner

ITS BETTER THEN NOTHING GUYS! I know it will be a loooooong, long time until we will have access to everything USA guys have (maybe never) but its nice to see Google atleaset is thinking about us, and slowly pushing their services to smaller countries.

    • SyncV2

Of course, no one will buy a single thing in Croatia from this, but still, it's a step in the right direction.

I managed to use the All Access one month trial by setting my address to US on my Google Wallet account and using a proxy to enter it. I then returned the address to Croatia and could normally use everything on my phone and PC.

    • http://slolinux.si kv1dr

Be happy, at least you got it. We(in Slovenia) will be happy if we ever get this.

  • נאור

When will we finally see I-S-R-A-E-L?!

  • Денис Круглов

  • Huton Gergö

    • Dee Norbert

  • Ben Said

  • Karol Klimczak

so now tell me... are there ANY free movies? :P

    • fcjan

  • Sergey Zozulya

Belarus! At last!! The first Google service, that finally found its way to this land. Already available.

  • Wian Potgieter

Ugh. Still not South Africa. Zimbabwe, yes. No South Africa. :'(

  • Morgan Jones

As for now. Poor movie selection, NO TV shows, lots of movies only in english and last con - Prices, sorry but paying i.e. 18 Euros for movie it is not a good deal. That is when you are in Poland to be clear.

  • Vesta12

Still no love for the mother land (S.A) huh?

  • sergejsbabikovs

Works in Latvia now, prices are OKAY, error 500 sometimes, no TV shows

    • Алекс

Cool, but nothing interrsting for me, i'll wait Play Music

  • Dawid Kamecki

    Poland awsome!

  • mirindonian

Oh my, almost 20 bucks for a movie while the most expensive cinema ticket is less than $8 here in LT. But hey, somebody's gonna use it anyway, and one more Google service came here after all, so...

  • someone755

You're shitting me. Albania, Slovakia, even all of the -stans get it.
Us? Central Europe? Nah, we can wait.
I see no reason for companies to complain over piracy -- if it's the only choice I have, I'll pirate.

    • Tomáš Petrík

Why are you comparing Slovakia to Albania or the -stans? That is almost an insult.

We are part of Central Europe as well, member of the EU, Eurozone, Schengen zone etc...

      • someone755

I was saying that providing a few countries in the EU would be okay, since that is done often. But where is the excuse for not offering the service in other EU countries if even the -stans get it.
This was an insult to the -stans and Google, Slovakia just mentioned because it was the first EU country I saw.

A guy from Slovenia would never insult Slovakia. That's like Australian people insulting Austria :P (as the two countries get mixed up a lot by foreigners)

        • Tomáš Petrík

          OK, I'll take that :)

  • hocestquisumus

They can do it in bloody Turkmenistan. They can't do it in Austria. That is because our version of the RIAA thinks it speaks for 800 million people instead of just 8 million. All we get for legal streaming are B and C movies up to the early 80s or current stuff up to two years later on TV, of course only with horrible dubbing.

  • GeorgeDao123

    Laos? Why not Vietnam, too?

  • robogo

Movies just went live in Croatia.

  • Karol Klimczak

These prices are insane... DVDs and BluRay movies are cheaper...

  • siiimv

    Works in Estonia!

  • Vincentius Phang

they have thailand but not my country :(

  • as

By 2093, the whole world will have it.
