Samsung is sending an update out to all the owners of its new wearables in the US. Surely there are some of them, right? So yes, that Gear 2, Gear2 Neo, or Gear Fit on your wrist is about to get slightly better. I mean, it's still a Gear, but you know.

Here's what you can expect to see in the update.

  • Pedometer is more accurate and starts counting steps automatically
  • Higher pedometer goals
  • An easier pedometer data transfer process
  • Improved heart rate monitor accuracy
  • Updated Sleep Mode that disables the screen wake-up feature, so you can wear it while sleeping without being disturbed
  • More options for messages sent to rejected calls and the ability to create custom messages

All good stuff, and it starts hitting devices today. The update notification will come through on your paired phone or tablet, but you'll have to wait your turn.
