Most flagship phones are announced with a particular street date when you'll be able to buy them, or at the very least get in a pre-order. Not the OnePlus One. Oh no, this phone is in such short supply that the company has an invite system in place. After a short delay, the first wave of lucky invitees are about to get their phones.

The devices were supposed to have already shipped, but were allegedly held up by a last minute software fix relating to OpenSSL vulnerabilities. With the first wave of invites going out, we should see more people getting authorization to give OnePlus their money soon. Maybe.

This doesn't apply to the 100 winners of OnePlus' Smash the Past contest, who already got their devices. If you're one of the few with a pending invite, check your email and cross your fingers.
