Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 owners, your Android 4.4.3 OTAs have finally begun, and the zip urls have been captured. A bit later than some others, but all things considered, waiting for an Android update for an extra day or two hasn't killed anyone.

If you're not familiar with the manual installation process, it's easy - just follow the steps in our guide for an earlier update, and you'll be set up with Android 4.4.3 in no time. You don't need root, custom recoveries, or bootloader unlocks to get this done.

What's new: To get a better idea of what's new in Android 4.4.3, hit up this post and check out the updated Dialer.

Updating as I type, lets hope it speeds up the N10 a bit, KK is slower than JB.

    • Rovex

Seems OK so far, predictably SkyGo no longer works.

    • Defenestratus

Makes my N10 run a bit snippier - but then again I never thought it was slow in the first place!

      • Rovex

Its not 'slow', just slower than when running Jelly Bean.

        • Fatal1ty_93_RUS

For me it's becoming unbearable.. Maybe I have too many apps and tweaks, but the overall system performance is not great, all the way from 4.3 up to 4.4.2, haven't used it on original 4.2 base as it was instantly auto updated to 4.2.1 and 4.2.2, ...

Finally! This better fix the Bluetooth issues on my Nexus 4

    • Bob G

      No issue with mine.

      • Stephen Lane

Do you use any Bluetooth low energy devices? I have a jawbone Up 24 constantly connected. One of the bug fixes relates to BLE devices crashing the Bluetooth

  • slurivariv

My Nexus 4 is running fine but let's update anyway, lol.

  • c0n0r

I opened this and got the update notification straight away. It sensed how impatient I was!

  • Henrique Persechini

"waiting for an Android update for an extra day or two hasn't killed anyone."... yet!

at least I know my way around flashing the factory image, so my update anxiety hasn't had time to pop any artery or anything

  • Fatal1ty_93_RUS

Ugh, has anyone managed to bring dual pane settings view on Nexus 10 back? It's really horrible, and I don't wanna to mess with custom roms, the thing is already barely holding itself from going totally junky in terms of perfomance

    • Russ Brown

Have they ever explained their reason for doing that? It seems that they put a lot of effort into getting people to make UIs that took advantage of tablet displays, and then went and did the exact opposite in a core UI of the OS itself.

      • Fatal1ty_93_RUS

I think Google just doesn't want to compete, especially with iPad, and Samsung rolls out hundreds of new models every day anyway. Maybe they don't put much effort because they have bigger plans for next 10" and 5.0, maybe they just gave up. Idk, the I/O will give us all the answers we seek for so long now

        • Russ Brown

They'd already put the effort in though: it used to have a functional two-pane fragment-based settings UI. I'm struggling to understand their rationale.

            Interface unification across the board

Where is the Nexus 7 2012 OTA?

  • Simon Belmont

Now I just need the N7 2012 OTA zip, so I can get on the ADB sideload wagon for that, too. Already sideloaded to my N5 last night.

Glad to see these rolling out pretty quickly. Good job, Google.

My Nexus 4 ran into a "status 7 installation aborted" i have a stock recovery, stock 4.4.2 rooted, and if it may help with an encryption for security reasons.

    • krishna chaianya

      I have the sane problem

  • Zach Shafer

i just it to day got 4.4.2 on my sg3 and i am with boost mobile

  • krishna chaitanya

I downloaded the nexus 4 zip file and tried to install it through CMW recovery but i got an error 7 installation aborted....what to do

    • Jesse Halls

Error 7 points to a modified system partition. Unless you are running stock android unmodified the OTA will not work.

      • krishna chaitanya

I am running on stock kitkat4.4.2 with the build num KOT49H

      • Omar Ashraf

Same here, some help plz stock kitkat 4.4.2 not rooted and stock recovery.

    • Fatal1ty_93_RUS

Why do you have so many babies in your contacts?

      • Muhammad Farooqi

I don't save family female members' pictures.. but their babies.. or no image.. ..

        • Adam B.

          Female pictures scare you maybe?

          • Muhammad Farooqi

I manually updated yesterday and apart for a small performance boost I can't see much difference. When you use nova launcher or alike, you never see much difference, but it I must admit that its all been smooth and stable since the upgrade.

  • http://plus.ly/zsolt prwnd

Can someone help me? Stock recovery is totally empty, only shows "no command" and there is no list of commands. I tried pressing volume up, down button, I also tried combining with power button, or pressing for longer time, but nothing. How to bypass this?

    • Arthur Jolivet

Only a custom recovery has commands. You must flash it if you want to you use the manual process

  • brnpttmn

Updated with the zip, and everything went well. It seems that they fixed the wireless charging issue has been fixed! Yea!

  • Dheeraj

Hey doing this update manually. Using a rooted kitkat 4.4.2.
Will this wipe down all my app data and all??
    Should I back up?

  • Oobiewan

a week difference doesn't matter at all since the rollout cycles are
distributed over weeks, so most of the n7 and n5 users still don't have
    it...

  • MarkMihai

Will I lose any data with this manual installation process of the update ? Thanks!

    • UnNomeACaso

You won't lose any data by flashing the OTA zip but you will probably break root. In case you're rooted just flash SuperSU right after installing the OTA.

  • Arthur Jolivet

Android Police : "Input the build number here: Date It!
KTU84L is Android 4.4/KitKat, dated at approximately March 25, 2014."

Why is it march 25, Google ?? you just doesn't change the build or it is ready since march ??
