Samsung has been dabbling around with the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE Edition's KitKat update for a while now, first rolling out the update to the Wi-Fi only version of the tablet several weeks ago. Now SamMobile reports that the LTE Edition, SM-P605, is getting its taste of Android 4.4 now in select countries. The first up are those in the Nordic region such as Denmark and Finland, with more on the way.

As usual, the update will roll out over the air and should also be available via Samsung Kies once it hits your area. Software-wise, this will bring in the goodies introduced by KitKat, such as white notification icons and immersive mode. These are joined by a new camera shortcut on the locksreen, wireless printing support, and additional options under phone settings such as the ability to select a default home launcher. These changes are all lumped in with other TouchWiz related goodness. For more details, hit up the link below.

Born and raised in the rural South, Bertel knows what it's like to live without 4G LTE - or 3G, for that matter. The only things he likes sweeter than his tea are his gadgets, and while few objects burn more than a metal phone on a summer day, he prefers them that way anyway.

"and immersive mode." No immersive mode on Samsung's devices, well, because they've had immersive mode for a long time. Most of their own apps go full screen and TouchWiz has had the option to show status bar in full-screen apps (both first- and third-party) since before KitKat, one of the things where Samsung did something good before Google (Google took two years to put immersive mode, when it should have been an option right from when ICS was announced, so we could hide those damn software buttons, which I otherwise love.)

Notification toggles are also something Samsung did first, and then CM copied them and finally Google added Quick Settings. People like to rag on TouchWiz but they do have some good features, and these days the hardware is so fast even Samsung can't lag it up. I got my P605 with the intention of bringing up CM11 on it, but I've been busy and I actually don't mind TouchWiz at all (except for the bleep bloops, first thing I disabled lol).
