You still can't really buy one even if you've got money to burn, but the OnePlus One has official support for TWRP now. So at least there's that. In case you were wondering, the device codename is bacon. Obviously.

TWRP, for those who are not in the know, as the kids say, is a custom recovery that can be used to flash ROMs/ZIP files and backup a device. If you really want to get your hands dirty, a custom recovery like TWRP or ClockwordMod is essential. This image file is part of the v2.7 branch of TWRP, which is the current version for all officially supported devices.

It can be flashed through fastboot in a few seconds as long as you've got the bootloader unlocked. Now all you need is the phone. Good luck with snagging an invite to buy a phone. Which... ugh. Don't get me started.

Are you guys going to revisit your review now that the final version of CM 11S is out?

    • RH

They should, it appears to be a LOT better now, according to the lucky few.
I kind of like the way they are releasing this new device. Yeah, that invite thing kind of backfired on them, but by releasing a brand new device to 100 or so, you let them use the device, while they (hopefully) build up inventory. I noticed the other day, there was a post that shows what is suppose to be a storage area filled with boxes that are suppose to be the OnePlus One waiting to go. The author said "look at all these devices waiting to be FLASHED". It appears, they are/were waiting for feedback, to possibly wait til the last minute to put the most stable OS on the device before shipping. IF that is the case, that is a great way to introduce a new device/OS to the market. Instead of ticking off potentially EVERYONE at the same time, potentially harming sales, release it to a couple hundred, let them report bugs, build the device, leave the OS off, and wait til the last minute to flash, sending a pretty solid device out to customers.

Agreed. People are getting hung up on a few pre-release devices - LG is doing the same thing with their G3 beta giveaway, and nobody's mad at them.

LG isn't asking anyone to smash their old phone.

Great to know, as I just learned I was one of the 150 winners of the raining invite contest to be able to order on June 6. Thanks.

    • Spinch

Nicely done. I hoped that my luck would cash me an invite ticket, but no dice for me.

    • KlausWillSeeYouNow

Can you hook a brother up with an invite? Pretty please? :-)

    • JONC

I would absolutely be the happiest person in the world if you had an invite to spare. Oh man.

    • Cebwizz

I receive my invite but I don't know yet if I will have some to spare, but if so, sorry guy but my brother and girlfriend will get it, if not I'll be sleeping on the couch and my bro won't talk to me for the rest of his live...lol...so sorry....
