Samsung leaves no phone behind. Well okay, it does, but not all the time. I mean, certainly not a flagship device... usually. At any rate, the Galaxy Note II on Sprint is getting bumped up to Android 4.4 as we speak. Isn't that nice?

The changelog for version L900VPUBNE2 is not terribly descriptive – OS upgrade to Android 4.4 (KitKat). That's all we get. It will roll out to all phablets in the coming days, but you might be able to pull it manually by checking in the system menu. Enjoy this update. Odds are it will be the last one the Sprint Note II sees.

The Note II was one of the best phones that I have...

    • jak_341

      Yep...yep. Good phone.

    • Chris

Still own it. Nothing to beat it yet. Maybe the note 4 tho ;)

    • Andrew

Sold mine, bought note 3... returned rebounds note 2. Been rocking mine since release with exception of the 10 day period I tried the note 3 (which I hated due to reception issues). Rocking kit Kat on my Verizon model with unlocked bootloader.

Jealous of your fancy unlocked bootloader..

"Had", or " IS one of the best phones I had/have used ".

      Class dismissed.

Please change the title of the article to include " - for Sprint" so us AT&T owners don't get our hopes up.

My Galaxy Note II (Indonesia/Asia) has been update into Android 4.4.2 long time ago. It's around 2-4 weeks...

    • Barnassey

      Shut up.

        A rude black person?

  • irahuaj

Yay, this means I might eventually one day get this update here in Australia!

  • jesuguru

Undecided if the benefits of upgrading my Note 2 outweigh KitKat's crippling my SD card.

    • blahblahblah

How can KitKat cripple your sdcard? There are already hundreds of ways to fix the sdcard issue with KitKat.

      • jesuguru

I'm aware of the fix, still considering pros/cons (including needing to re-root my phone post-upgrade). That's why I said "undecided".

      • primalxconvoy

Mainly for root, or on a app-by-app basis.

I'd rather wait for a better solution, thanks.

  • blahblahblah

AP, how about you edit that title and make sure it says "Sprint Only" so that people aren't using Odin for nothing!!

  • Matt

I just got the update a couple of days ago and I have the international model N7100 and live in Australia. Best phone I've ever owned, probably only going to replace it when the Note 4 comes out :P

  • Terry Lee

Does this have the Knox partition?

  • primalxconvoy

I've never received an update using either Softbank nor Docomo in Japan, but in this case, their laziness has saved my sd card and internal memory the curse of Kitkat.

lol, and it took them only 7 months.......

I love being a Verizon subscriber. We don't have to worry about all this new fangled stuff. Awesome things are for kids, rabbit.
