AT&T has announced that the Galaxy S4 Mini, yes - the phone that came out back in November, is coming to the carrier May 23rd with HD Voice. It will be the first device on the network with support for making VoLTE (voice over LTE) calls. The handset isn't available for pre-order, but the carrier does have it listed as "coming soon."

AT&T is the first carrier to support making voice calls over LTE, supporting simultaneous voice and data over the IP network. For the feature to work, both callers must have VoLTE-enabled devices and live in a supported area. For now, the states with the feature will be Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. That means to enjoy AT&T HD Voice on May 23rd you will need to own a new Galaxy S4 Mini and live in one of four Midwestern states. Yeah, they didn't call this a limited test for nothing.

Customers will be able to pick up the phone for $49.99 with a two-year contract, $14.24 a month with Next 18, or $18.50 with Next 12. Additional details are available at the links below.

Bertel King, Jr.
Born and raised in the rural South, Bertel knows what it's like to live without 4G LTE - or 3G, for that matter. The only things he likes sweeter than his tea are his gadgets, and while few objects burn more than a metal phone on a summer day, he prefers them that way anyway.

Good luck keeping those in stock. I anticipate huge demand. People will be trading in their S5's HTC Ones and iPhone 5s's just to get their whole family talking in HD! Incredible

S4 mini exists quite a while (July, announced on May 30, seriously check your sources...), why are they releasing this NOW? almost a year after it was announced from Samsung?

I wish they'll release a Note mini sometimes down the road.

This kind of stupid. My little sister bought this phone in September. Great phone and great battery life but it is old to the party. It should be given for free.
