Developer Her Interactive and Nancy Drew have a long relationship that will, by the end of this month, span thirty PC games (and some Mac) over the course of roughly fifteen years. These point-and-click adventure titles are standard fare for fans of the genre, containing puzzles, mysteries, and an engaging plot. Now one has made its way to Android, Nancy Drew: Ghost of Thornton." This isn't the first game in the main series (yes, the company has more than one Nancy Drew series), nor the second, nor the third. It's the twenty-eighth.

Her Interactive has done a decent job scaling the content down to run on Android tablets. The title screen is frustratingly laggy on my 2013 Nexus 7, but the game itself runs smoothly. The dialogue is voice-acted, and the atmospheric audio is not to be missed. Definitely play this one with headphones or in a quiet room.

Nancy Drew: Ghost of Thornton is free to download and try, but you will need to purchase the full game via a $5.99 in-app purchase to get the full experience.

Awesome, loved the initial titles I played on my PC, it's great to see point and click adventure games making their way to Android, they're greatly suited to touchscreens. Just gotta wait for Monkey Island to arrive, then it'll be a party.

Yeah, I've already played them using ScummVM on both Symbian (to think this actually smart and powerful OS never made it that big in apps because of Nokia :/) and Android. Was talking about the newer ones, the ones launched by Telltale. They're not as good as the originals, but still something I want to be able to play on Android, haha.
