Play Store carrier billing support has rolled out to another mobile provider, 3 (Drei) in Austria. If you head over to Google's carrier billing support page, the site doesn't list it just yet, but thanks to a tip, we've laid our eyes on screenshots suggesting otherwise. Here, feast your eyes as well.

Why is this a big deal? Some people don't want to provide Google with their credit card numbers. Others would rather just budget these purchases for the end of the month. Whatever the motivation, having options is nice.

There's a chance Google is planning to add support for other carriers (or already has) before updating the page. For now we will just have to wait and see, but we are sending this word out so any eager 3 customers can get started with carrier billing right away.

Hit up the link below for further confirmation.

Born and raised in the rural South, Bertel knows what it's like to live without 4G LTE - or 3G, for that matter. The only things he likes sweeter than his tea are his gadgets, and while few objects burn more than a metal phone on a summer day, he prefers them that way anyway.

Austria in international news? That's like the songcontest all over again

  • HoeRak

I just checked it & i can "only" pay via Credit-/Debitcard, Carrier billing with A1(Telekom Austria) or a gift card.

    • aney1

You need to enable "Weitere Mehrwertdienste" in inside3.
      It's working for me.

  • Patryk Romańczyk

Now Conchita Wurst will can pay with her/his/its carrier billing.

  • aney1

I tried to enable it while carrier billing was disabled in the inside3 settings and got a error message. Now the option is gone in Google play...
How can I get it back?

    • saf1927

I hardly find it believable. Yes, maybe not everyone has credit cards, but what about debit cards?

      • aney1

Yeah almost everybody has a debit card (I got mine with 14)
Unfortunately they aren't supported in the play store outside the US.

        • saf1927

Strange. I use my debit card on the Play Store and I live in the UK.

    • Thatguyfromvienna

I am Austrian and I hardly know anyone not owning a credit card.

  • TheLastAngel

    Yep, that's my carrier!

    Awesome news!

  • Sebastian Burgstaller

    Did they disable it again?
