Finding a decent ten inch tablet that won't break the bank can be an interesting process. There are so many options on the market, it's easy to get overwhelmed. If, however, you're in the market for something from the ASUS Transformer line, there's a pretty solid deal on eBay happening right now: the Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T is just $200. Keep in mind that we're talking about the Tegra 3 model here, by the way - not last year's TF701, which features the Tegra 4 chip.

While this deal is specifically for the tablet (no dock is included), it's worth noting that the units being sold are new, as opposed to refurbished models that we often see with prices this low (it's $70 cheaper than what's going on Amazon right now). Plus, you can always add a dock later if laptop-like functionality is what you're ultimately after.

It's hard to say how long this deal will last, but ones of this nature generally sell out relatively quickly. So if you don't mind a last-generation product, you should probably jump on it now.

For anyone thinking about it, unless you plan on unlocking it, don't bother with the TF700. It has a serious I/O issue that the second you try to have more than 1 app in memory it slows down to a crawl. My old TF101 worked better than the Inifnity.

Unlocking it does not help. I got it running KK + ART. Still shit.

My old TF101 did work until they released the ICS update. Borked my tablet. Two updates later, crashes less but still slow and unstable. I since avoid anything running Asus software.

This is true. What a waste of money. Made me not consider another Asus tablet ever again.

    Tegra 3?

    Umm, HELL NO.

    $200 lagfest? No thanks

Good option for $200. A custom ROM makes this thing fly.

    • Ricardo Ferreira

No, it does not.. I have one and it's an NAND problem, not something you can fix with a new ROM.

  • Mordalo

I have one, and it is SLOW. Good tablet for what I use it for, however. YMMV.

Has anyone else tried a different ROM? What do you think?

    • Ricardo Ferreira

      It doesn't change a thing.. :(

    • Paul

Clearly not everyone here is having a good experience, but my tablet performs quite well with both CM and CROMI-X. I use it every single day of my life. It's not going to be as seamless nor as smooth at a Nexus 10, but it can be improved dramatically.

Stay away very far away. It lags something awful. An iPad 2 even out performed this thing

  • Logan

Don't buy this thing. No matter how much you tweak it, no matter how many mods you try, it will still run like crap. And no, a custom ROM doesn't make it fly. I tried them all. Lag, lag, and more lag. I tried browsing with it quite a few times and I just ended up putting it down. Way to frustrating.

I have a Transformer Prime. I love the form factor SO MUCH, but the tablet is just crap. Slow, laggy, not reliable. Really terrible. Factory resets only help for about 2 days.

It's like going back to Windows ME.

  • Ricardo Ferreira

DON'T BUY IT!! I have one and the NAND on those devices are so slow that makes the tablet unusable!!!

  • syxbit

    Tegra 3 sucks big time.

  • Anfronie

    Ebay can keep it...
