Google knows when you've been looking up a particular device or product through its search engine, because that's targeted advertising gold. Now there's a new card in Google Now that helps you turn fantasy into reality by telling you where you can get that thing you've been searching for in real life.

products searched avail nearby

The card will only be triggered if you're out someplace and happen by a store that has the product you've been searching for. The card for this might contain multiple products from multiple stores, each with a price listed.

The functionality seems to have just shown up in the most recent Google Search update – we noticed a new product card layout in the teardown, but it wasn't clear if it was active yet. We have an answer now.

"if you are interested please click yes and we will inform the retailer you will be arriving soon"

      • WORPspeed

the correct wording in this case is: "if you are interested please click yes and we will inform the retailer you will be COMING soon"

        • Kylecore

in your attempt to correct the wording you still messed up. If you want to play it that way it would be CUMMING

          • ExplainsJoke

No. You just didn't get the joke. "Coming" was right. It was only supposed to sound like "Cumming". But he was actually "going" ala "coming"

That's cool. But sometimes I just search stuff up online because I'm curious of something, not because I necessarily want it. What I would really prefer is if one of my items on my "Google Shopping Wish List" (I don't think 'Wish List' isn't an feature/app that Google has currently) is at one of the stores nearby.

For an example, one of my wish list st00fs is to get a Rose-Breasted Cockatoo. :/ - Yeah...nvm maybe it might be impossible for Google to figure that out.

'Shortlists' is the feature and that would be quite nice

    US only I take it?

So who has the 3.4.16.xxxxxx update to share? I searched up and down the net, I couldn't find it.

    • guest817

I have not received my update yet.

I'm still on android polices apk.

    • grumpyfuzz

I have it installed with the latest paranoid gapps. Though, this version sucks as it's causing a ton of NLP wakelocks that don't happen on previous versions.

      • Kylecore

PA or search is causing the wakelocks? I was thinking about giving the new PA a shot from CM11 tonight

        • grumpyfuzz

The PA rom is fine. I'm also using the PA gapps with the rom though. I tried installing an older pa gapps and it stopped the wakelocks, and now I'm on the latest version again. I'm messing around with a bunch of settings and I've got it to stop. It must be something going on my end lol. You should still check out the rom though.

          • Kylecore

Thanks for the quick response. I'll be checking it out tonight after work!

          • grumpyfuzz

No problem! Hope you like it, I do :P. Only thing is, I think the new search update is causing all of these wakelocks, which kind of sucks. I got it to stop for about a minute and assumed it was gone lol. Guess I will have to wait until they roll this out to most people.

Here. http://goo.gl/OR3XxY. I got it a day or two after 3.4.15. I thought it would be a minor update. Didn't bother to look at it(though this has more to do with I being in India). But this makes me happy, I was one of the firsts to get both 3.4.15 and 3.4.16 :D.

  • mrjayviper

doesn't work if you have turned off "web history" like I did :D

  • Generalissimo Pantalones

Google, you are one creepy mutherfucka.

OT: Anyone seeing Android Police updates in Google Now cards? It's likely the website I visit the most, and yet Google Now offers me cards about other websites updates, but never AP.

It could be because I'm in Europe, but that doesn't make much sense since some website updates cards are from English written European websites... Having English langage website updates should include U.S. websites as well, right Google? ... Have other Europeans noticed that behavior?

    • Jonathan Cammisuli

I noticed that as well. But I'm in Canada.

None of these things ever work on my Nexus 5
