Pushbullet does a lot of neat stuff, and it's getting that much cooler with today's update to v14. The app was already pretty slick in the looks department, but now it has a nifty card-based UI and a fully optimized tablet layout. Oh, and pushing is improved too.

Here's the full list of changes from this update.

  • Card-based UI
  • Floating Pushbullet sharing window
  • Improved Tasker integration
  • Push to all devices
  • Multiple accounts
  • Easier to add friends
  • Improved notification mirroring enable/disable list
  • Improved widget

The new interface is a solid improvement, but the additional functionality is really cool. The all devices broadcast option is going to be handy, and it's nice the sharing interface no longer pulls you out of what you're doing. The update has just gone live in the Play Store, so it might not show up for you right away.

    Where is the apk?

    • someone755

      Play Store?
      Or google it lol.

      • Trevor Cook

        I searched the interwebs...
All I found was nothingness :P

        • someone755

          You're a bad Googler.

  • Luca

I wish they add the feature to reply to text messages/whatsapp/... (I know whatsapp doesn't provide APIs). BTW great app

is it just me or is that bold font in the action bar kind of ruining the beauty?

    • someone755

      I like it, actually.
To each their own, I guess.

The way the action bar color blends into the status bar is genius tho.

And deserve this because ... why?

          • IrishSid

If you have to ask, then... :doublefacepalm:

          • someone755

No, please explain. What did I say that was so wrong?
            The first line? Nope.
The second? Why would that be wrong?
The last? Um, excuse me but very few apps actually do that. And to see it on an app I use is great. Even better -- it's an app I love using.

So what in the name of Droid did I say that's stupid enough to deserve a facepalm?

      • Avijit Ghosh

Genius? Hmm..It's been around for long, I know exactly how to do this, but nobody used it before in a popular app. I wish Facebook , Twitter etc would do it too. :)

        • someone755

Long? :O I've seen a few apps implement it since KitKat but most just leave it black.
Any links to that? Especially the part of "doing it" would be nice :P

          • Avijit Ghosh

If you're a user, use Tinted Status Bar Closed module.

If you're the app developer, change the app theme background colour just after you set transparent decorview.

One of the rare emails (especially Disqus emails) I have "starred" in my gmail. Thanks :D

  • SVem26

And here I was thinking this app can not get any more beautiful... Its a shame we rarely get to use this UI actually..

    • someone755

EDIT: sorry, replied to wrong comment xD

      • SVem26

hehe.. for a minute i got confused why you would say that..

  • TheSparks

What awesome devs we have here!

  • potatoking

Yeah If they somehow manage to find a way to reply to texts, facebook messages and whatsapp this would be one of the core applications of android

  • Marcell Lévai

Don't worry, once most of the apps use design described in the guidelines, El Goog will change them again :)

  • Pedro Paz

The latest update is not on the play store.

    • DoctorRabbitfoot

Patience you must have my young padawan.

  • TheSparks

I dont understand why this update requires access to my Google Photos.

    • guzba

It's a new permission required to push G+ photos from the new Google Photos app. I'd have put this in the What's New section but I didn't have room :O

      • Trevor Cook

        That's a good problem to have :P

      • https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=iWizard Bikram Agarwal

But I didn't get a "New permission requested" while doing the update. What gives?

        • guzba

I think it applies to KitKat only?

          • https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=iWizard Bikram Agarwal

Both my devices are kitkat. i did get the new permission note on Galaxy Nexus. But not on the Nexus 5. Both are running 4.4.2 and have G+ Photos installed. Meh, got a nice update. That's what matters. :)

  • Mark

I just went to the play store / my apps, found Push bullet and it had the option to update. Hit update and done

Best app ever next to Gravity Screen On/Off

  • Heiko

Why did they replace the standard navigation drawer with a 'wrong' side menu (and without the three 'hamburger' lines)? Can't believe this hasn't been brought up yet on a site like Androidpolice :D

  • xnifex

Why won't you take my money?!?

  • Th3_NSA

This might be asking for a little too much I hope the developers add something like group pushing where you can make set groups and push to them specifically instead of pushing it individually to those devices.
