Last week, AT&T started pushing the KitKat OTA to Samsung Galaxy S4 Active owners on its network. Looks like that was a short-lived rollout, as the company has now halted the update, explaining that it is working with Samsung to improve the OTA.

Seems like that's something could've been done before the update actually started rolling out, so the odds are that something is actually broken and both companies are just staying mum about it. Here's the statement given to us by Samsung:

The software update for Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is temporarily on hold while AT&T and Samsung look into potential improvements.

Either way, if you're a GS4 Active owner and are still waiting on the update, that's why. Once it starts rolling out again we'll be sure to let you know.

    Adding more bloat I presume.

Broken? Try, bricking phones! Happened to my boss last week.

I side loaded it on my wife's Active and it took forever but worked just fine. I got kinda nervous with how long it says on "updating system files". To my knowledge its been running perfectly since the update though.

Maybe they are going to fix the GPS Issue many of their users are seeing like the Note 3 users did.

Bricked my wife's phone when i updated it. We get to the ATT store while we are there swapping out her phone, 3 more active users walk in with the same problem! How does an update like this get approved?

My wife's phone got WAY HOT, to the point the screen acted up (distortion) until I let it cool down. Had to remove the battery to reboot several times even after that. Got that sorted out, but her touchscreen no longer funtions. Grrrr!!! Guess we'll take it to the store an hour away.

Adding things so their phones don't explode again, like all the things that have the name Samsung on them, they all just explode for no reason at all

Man i really hope they fix the unresponsive screen updated it by Sideload method and it booted perfectly until i touched the screen

After I downloaded the update, my phone just froze. Even when the rep told me to do a "factory reset". They just sent me a replacement.
