The third part in Google's update troika today is Play Newsstand. This app is getting some subtle changes to organization and not so subtle color tweaks. If you're anxious to get your hands on the latest version of Google's news reader, head down below to grab the APK.

Google has yet to post an updated changelog for this app, but here's what we're seeing so far.

  • My News and My Magazines now combined in new My Library section
  • New Read Now category bar is swipeable and auto-hides
  • Action bar changes color for each news category

The navigation menu is less cluttered now with the My Library section. From this new area you'll still be able to see all your subscriptions to news and magazines, as well as various general topics. The colorful action bars in the main categories of the app are a fun change, but will be a pain for anyone addicted to the Tinted Statusbar Xposed module.

APK Download

The APK is signed by Google and upgrades your existing app. The cryptographic signature guarantees that the file is safe to install and was not tampered with in any way. Rather than wait for Google to push this download to your devices, which can take days, download and install it just like any other APK.
