Google releases new Auto Awesomes all the time. Sometimes it makes pictures snow. Sometimes they sparkle. On certain days, pictures even fall in love. These are amusing, but today's new addition is something more. Nothing can turn an average picture into something memorable like a celebrity photobomb. So Google and David Hasselhoff are here to deliver.

Google1 Google2

Like most other Auto Awesome effects, users get to experience this photobomb solely by taking a photo, backing it up to Google+, and hoping for the best. Many Google+ users have already publically shared their Hasselhoff sightings, some of which you can see here, here, and here.

Most of the appearances I've seen have been semi-natural, but some are just plain spooky.

Bertel King, Jr.
Born and raised in the rural South, Bertel knows what it's like to live without 4G LTE - or 3G, for that matter. The only things he likes sweeter than his tea are his gadgets, and while few objects burn more than a metal phone on a summer day, he prefers them that way anyway.

This will probably get more people to switch over to Google+. LOL.

I'm hoping it will. I'm feeling lonely on Google+. All I have is myself... and Hasselhof.

Still a better lovestory than Twilight though.

Yeah! :) I don't see why not more people use Google+ daily. I like how it works.

      • Dick

        Probably because its sucks.

I hope this endures past April Fool's Day.

Google upped the game this year. Nobody has come close for April Fool's. First Pokemon Challenge in Gmap. Then signature apps delivered in cheesy boxes. Now this. Can't wait for 1 Apr 2015

    About time, Google...

  • numpty

Gawd, will somebody please wake me when it's April 2nd. This stuff gets more tedious every year.

XBMC similarly has a Hasselhoff-themed April Fool's joke

Don't tell me not available in Canada

  • peeved at the invasion

How can I prevent google from engaging in this stupidity with my photos? Stay out of my photos, this isn't even remotely funny.

      Lighten up Francis.
