If you're a user of the popular home media server PlayOn and you read Android Police, you'll probably be interested to know that the service has added support for the Chromecast in the latest beta builds of the Windows applications (PlayOn and PlayLater).

The nifty part is that Chromecasting using PlayOn doesn't even require an Android device - you can send videos to your Chromecast from Android, iOS, or PC (via the browser extension). Neat.

This is, of course, a test release, so it may not be working perfectly just yet. No update to the PlayOn app or browser extension should be required, either, you just need to be running the new beta build of the Windows app. From there, just select the video you want to watch from the mobile app and your Chromecast should appear from the list of devices to stream to. Easy! Head to the link below to get the beta version of the Windows app and start streaming.
