Google Play gift cards are only available in a handful of countries around the world, but now they have made their way into Hong Kong. Here they are on Google Play in increments of 200, 500, and 1000 Hong Kong dollars.

The cards are available for purchase in local stores, though the only retailer currently listed appears to be 7-Eleven. One reader has shared with us an image of them out in the wild.

Spain is the next country to make the list. Like Hong Kong a few days ago, the country is shown as "coming soon," but cards will ship in increments of 15 €, 25 €, and 50 € once they arrive.

Update: According to a post on Google Spain's Google+ page, gift cards are already available, but only via Fnac stores. Other retailers are still to come.

Is there any chance Google offer their services back to mainland China? In fact, Chinese user don't even have formal channel to purchase legitimate apps/games.

They are already available in Spain, but only on Fnac stores at the moment, with them becoming available in other stores "soon". (Info taken from Google Spain's official Google+ Page).

Well, if I remember correctly there *was* a supposedly launch here in Spain some time ago -at least a lot of websites said Google Play Gifts Cards were available from then- and inclusive one or two shops had some Gifts Cards, but there wasn't any official statement from Google at all, and the Gift Cards availability seemed to be a mistake, because later I couldn't find them anywhere. Maybe they were stocking for the future launch and someone make a mistake and told it before it was time XD

The redeem code section which was added in Spain wasn't for Gift Cards, but for the Promotional Codes from the KitKat promotion. Many magazines mistook that redeem function as a sign that Gift Cards were coming, but now it's when they really are coming.
