There are many reasons to pick up a Google Play gift card. Whether someone's birthday is coming up, you don't have your own credit card, or just you want to force yourself to stick to a budget, gift cards can make it easier to scratch a Google Play itch. Google's gradually rolled out availability to a handful of countries around the world, and it looks like the latest locale to make the list will be Hong Kong.

As the timeframe is listed as "coming soon," we can't tell you when to start looking for gift cards. That said, we do at least see the available increments. Cards will likely go for 200, 500, and 1000 Hong Kong dollars when they eventually hit store shelves.

Born and raised in the rural South, Bertel knows what it's like to live without 4G LTE - or 3G, for that matter. The only things he likes sweeter than his tea are his gadgets, and while few objects burn more than a metal phone on a summer day, he prefers them that way anyway.

I never bought a game or app. until placards came out. I've since spent several hundred pounds.
Not all of us have, or want our card numbers in the hands of Google to be hacked and stolen.
When I switched from an iPod years ago I amazed they did not exist.

Paranoid much? Ever eaten dinner at a restaurant? Bought a car? Stayed at a hotel? Your information is all over the place. That's what it's for; to be used. But if you just live under a blanket of fear, then how can you ever be happy? Paper/metal money is retarded. It's 2014. You're slowing everyone in the queue down and you're holding the entire planet back from the future.
