Those torrents aren't going to download themselves. You're going to want yourself a solid bittorrent client, and since you're running Android, you're in luck. The BitTorrent app underwent a big 2.0 redesign just last month, and now µTorrent is starting to do the same. It's a much needed change too. Just take a look.

Version 2.0 is also introducing new features, such as the ability to select specific files within a torrent.

Unfortunately, the new version isn't available to all of us just yet. The screenshots in the Play Store have been updated, but unless you're a beta tester, you will still end up downloading version 1.22. We haven't found a way to join the list of testers, so it looks like most of us will have to wait until the update rolls out to everyone.

Update: It looks like µTorrent is rolling this update out to a small number of general users initially to test it out before pushing it out as a wide release later on. You may have already received an update. If you don't yet have it on your device, there is still a chance 2.0 will be the version that installs when you hit the widget below.

What's new in µTorrent 2.02 (in beta - available to a % users):

  • Refreshed design
  • Select files within a torrent
  • Choose torrent download location before or after torrents have started
  • Choose to delete torrents only, or torrents & files
