It seems like just yesterday when we heard that Verizon was inviting users to the Moto X 4.4.2 soak test, and now here we are. Big Red just updated its Moto X support docs with the full 4.4.2 changelog, which should mean that the update is preparing to roll out to users soon – possibly within a few days.

Update 2/24: Motorola just pushed the release notes to its customer portal, so the update should be hitting devices any time now.

Here's the gist: new stuff, better stuff, some other stuff. But hey – now the X is up to date with AOSP, which is always a good thing. If the update hits your device, feel free to let us know. Drop a screenshot in the comments if you want. We like screenshots.

Update: Here's a screenshot of the soak test build (thanks, anon!) - hopefully, this means the full rollout starts very soon, if all goes well:

    Say what??!!?? Verizon?? First??

    • brkshr

I think their almost last actually

Edit: I believe Sprint, US Cellular & I think T-Mobile already rolled out updates

      • ThaSik1

Well dang..I was pretty stoked about Big Red updating us but I guess they are still slacking if your post is right. *facepalm*

        • brkshr

I still think VZW is doing better than they used to. At least when it comes to the Moto X.

      • Retsu Unohana

From my understanding T-mobile has not gotten anything for the Note 3. I have been looking around and no info.

        • brkshr

We're talking about Moto X here

      Tmobile was first.

      • h4rr4r

Tmobile does not even have a branded device though.
Are those updates coming from tmobile or moto?

  • jmendenhall80

    AT&T? Where are you?

    • Kenne Phimmasonsouk

Yeah I know at&t needs to update this!

  • Labrador Retriever

    No and No.

Soak test invites were sent yesterday, not the actual soak test. Also, the OTA is not rolling out now.

  • brkshr

Thank God VZ Tones and Navigator were updated...

    • Bootleg Zani

What would I ever do without them?

  • Matt m

You can't bash verizon on moto x updates. If this was a year ago we'd still be waiting for 4.4

  • Ryan Ball

I don't want to lose root though :(

  • Cesar

Time to start frantically checking my "About Phone" section.

  • h4rr4r

    So still last, right?

    • Hothfox

      I don't think AT&T has 4.4.2 yet either.

  • JT Wieme

anyone know how the invites go out? email? do you just get a system update notification? i'm signed up in the motorola feedback network but haven't received anything about the soak test.

How 'bout the Razr M (xt907)? Isn't that supposed to be getting the update?

  • tardis 13

    And for the Verizon Droids?

  • Bootleg Zani

How about the goddammn Moto X Developer Edition? Shouldn't I already have this update by now?

  • MeCampbell30

I got mine. And I'm not a part of the soak - I don't think.

  • hoosiercub88

    Got mine yesterday.

Just got Verizon OTA, noticed a change right away with the GPS symbol on the power control widget, allows half GPS and Full GPS.
    I'll keep looking around.

  • jcfrst1

Just got it , can they plz exclude the VZN bloat ,,

  • Daryl Henson

I'm assuming that it does, but does anyone know if this update breaks root?

The location button in the default power control widget is updated to reflect visually that "off" is actually putting it into low power location mode

I keep getting repetitive install software update requests on my new Verizon MOTO X when I've already installed it !!!! So Annoying. Any fixes ?
