The Galaxy Gear hasn't been a smash hit, but it's still one of the most full-features smart watches available. It's definitely too expensive at $300, but half that price is pretty good. Best Buy currently has several colors of the Gear on sale for 50% off – just $149.99.

This will probably add fuel to the fire of speculation over a new version of the Gear debuting at MWC, but if that doesn't worry you, this is a solid deal. Of course, you need a compatible Samsung device to make use of the Gear.

The black and gray versions of the Gear are still $250, but the discounted price is good on lime green, rose gold, beige, and orange. This is a Best Buy deal of the day, so don't take too long to decide.

[Best Buy – Thanks, Tony]

Even at $150, I have zero interest.

And would still only work with a few select devices.....smh

  • animejay

if it wasn't just a Samsung phone thing, i would THINK about it.

root it, its a android device

I have a note 3 but 150 was really my price point from the beginning considering the features (or lack of I guess). Now that the new one is expected it drops on a daily deal I bought it. But at least I have the option to return it.
Plus it gives me the chance to flash it in the face of a coworker that tried to sell a badly used one for 300 just a few days ago.

    Moving on .....

MWC is less than 2 weeks away and the Galaxy Gear 2 will be coming out. This seems like a quick way to get rid of inventory. If you are smart, you should wait. The Galaxy Gear 2 is expected to feature a

“flexible OLED display, and to be 15 to 20 percent thinner than the current smartwatch"

    I'm just saying....

I'm interested to see if Samsung opted for a fitness/watch hybrid with a flexible display screen.
