Google was previously just testing Chromecasting from embedded YouTube videos (as opposed to those on YouTube.com), but it looks like the feature has now been rolled out to virtually all videos. Google's support page has been updated to say that "most embedded YouTube videos" are now supported for casting.

We've been doing some testing, and every embedded video so far has been compatible with the Chromecast. The point of saying "most" embedded videos might be a nod to the limitations on private, live, and non-mobile videos on the Chromecast in general.

So, that's just more cool stuff the Chromecast can do. It took a few months, but it's getting to be a capable little device.

That's awesome! I really hope they try to put a priority on getting Live Streaming content available on there as well. I was extremely saddened when I tried that the first time and then was like "Well, yea, I should have remembered that" when I Googled for the problem and my first hit was an AP post.

Browsing from mobile chrome, embedded videos are still hard to throw to chromecast.

Damn :( I keep checking too see if they finally release Chromecast for international customers, I guess we'll get it eventually. Can't wait to get one and try all these things out though :D

Still impossible to view from Chrome mobile. That was the main thing I was hoping for =(

Personally, I thought it was a capable little device when I bought it on launch day. All of the subsequent upside has been a bonus.

I've had this feature on and off for a while now. It wasn't until today that I noticed it was showing up more than I was used to. Mystery of the inconstant Chromecast button solved.

Does this work for embedded videos in the MOBILE version of Chrome?
