Do you use your smartphone while watching TV? Yeah, put your hands down. We're all guilty here. Yahoo hoped to take advantage of this habit of ours with IntoNow, an app that could identify whatever show was on and provide extra information about it (think SoundHound for TV). Yeah, the end result was still distracting, but it could be less disruptive than performing a Google search. Regardless, it doesn't matter anymore. Yahoo has killed the app off.

This screen now greets any newcomers who visit IntoNow's Google Play page. The app will still show up for people who downloaded it in the past, but don't expect anything in the way of updates. Those days are gone.

According to an email I got from Yahoo last month, it was removed from the Play store (and iTunes) on 1/28 and it will no longer operate at all after 3/31.

Never heard of it. Too bad, sounds like a cool app.

Saw this coming as soon as I heard about Yahoo buying them a few years ago.

What's the reason for removing it?
    sounds like a cool thing...

what I really need is an app that tracks new TV shows coming out. Typically what happens is that I see the advertisement for the new show, get excited, but forgotten about by the time it airs.

For example, I just remembered "The Moaning of Life"... I best write myself a note...

Google Now offers the same functionality, but I'm a bit sad to see this go. It was an amazing app.
