LGGFlex-Thumb

The LG G Flex isn't the kind of phone you recommend to everyone. Sure, it has a curved screen, but what is that actually good for? Yet if you've been craving this phone since watching it heal itself (which is admittedly pretty cool), Sprint's gearing up to put one in your hands pretty soon. The handset is now available for pre-order at a price point of $299.99 with a two-year contract. Anyone who calls dibs will also get a free QuickWindow Folio Case that would otherwise cost $59.99.

Sprint will start offering the LG G Flex for sale online come January 31st. If you want to get your hands on the device first before handing over three hundred bucks (and we wouldn't blame you), look for it in stores a week later on February 7th.

Is there a date set for T-Mobile?

    • Matthew Merrick

      Not yet

  • RyanWhitwam

I don't know how they think they can get away with charging $300 for a phone on-contract anymore.

...this is just a G2 with a gimmick screen, right?

    • ProductFRED

Only 720p and reviews saying it has horrible banding issues.

    • Matthew Merrick

A G2 phablet with a low-res curved screen and a weirdly placed IR port.

      • Ark

I don't really mind 720p, looks pretty good on the Moto X imho. Also if it has the same battery as the G2, I imagine it would have like 10 hours screen on time per charge

        • Matthew Merrick

Moto X has a lot higher pixel density than this - this comes in somewhere between the note 2 and the OG N7, in terms of pixel density. If that's OK with you, then cool, but the Moto X is way better than most 720p displays.

Also the battery appears to be bigger, according to pdadb. 3500 vs 3000

        • ProductFRED

720p on a much smaller screen will look sharper (Moto X). This is 720p on a 6-inch screen. As in half an inch bigger than the Galaxy Note 2 with the same resolution. So imagine if the Galaxy Note 3 was 720p (it's 5.9 inches).

WHy would I pay $300 on contract when I can get an awesome $300 phone (for $300), off contract and pay less?

    • dan

Because you couldn't bend it and get weird bumps on your screen like the LG Flex?

      • firesoul453

        Ahh good point lol

  • TopXKiller

Rockin LG Flex ROM on my G2, looks nicer then stock G2

  • jeffmd

if the screen can bend does that mean it is super hard to shatter from accidental drops too?

  • Markus

What a dumbass move sprint $299? Really?? They'll sell a couple of them in the first month.
