Patience is a virtue, and in this case a virtue that can save you money. You could run out and buy apps and games as the mood strikes you, but then the sales would do you no good. Best to bide your time, then pounce when the moment is right. Like now! Gogogo.

If we uninstall Minimalistic Text, it also removes the pro features and requires to re-enter the promo code.

Backup the app with Titanium Backup before uninstalling and restore with data while installing it again

Good to know though (however, for something like Minimalistic Text, you're not going to want to set it up manually each time you flash anyway).

How about an unrooted phone which is unable to get used Titanium Backup?

Helium. This should do the trick for nonrooted phones.

This is exactly what is wrong with the Google Play Store. Developers should be able to run promos for their app through the Play Store. Not some hacked up method of temporary unlock codes. If you get an app for free to should be permanently tied to your account. Apple's app store does this very well. Developers can lower the price of their app to free for a short while, get users, then end the promo and get follow up purchasers through word of mouth. I'm disappointed in Google, they are suppose to be better than that.

There are some ways, for example Changelog Droid did it so it registered your account. So now when you format your phone and install Changelog Droid free, and choose your google account, you get the Pro version again (didn't test it myself, but people were saying it works like that, here in the discussion)
