Sprint just surprised everyone by being the first US carrier to roll out the Android 4.3 update to the HTC One, just missing the September deadline by a hair. But not everyone owns HTC's latest flagship, so it's nice to see that the One isn't the only device having all the fun (granted, it's having most of it). The HTC Evo 4G LTE is also getting an update today, and while it may not be anything nearly as exciting as the jump to Android 4.3, it's better than nothing.

Today's update makes Sense more stable and allows users to use HD Voice by default. And... that's it. Okay, it's not that much better than nothing. Actually, it's pretty much nothing. At least the version number's higher. That's always nice.

The update may be released in stages, so if nothing shows up when you check for it, just give it a bit.

Born and raised in the rural South, Bertel knows what it's like to live without 4G LTE - or 3G, for that matter. The only things he likes sweeter than his tea are his gadgets, and while few objects burn more than a metal phone on a summer day, he prefers them that way anyway.

I'm running 4.3 on mine right now.... :

maybe we'll get a port from the One's 4.3 update from today

I don't think Chubbz, Sinister, CaptainThrowback would start on it, since they already have hiccups on the 4.2 port

i figured, but one can dream! im still running the awesome sense 5 port. its pretty much flawless

I love it, I just really wish Bluetooth would work and the Camera works on snapchat.

"it's better than nothing" and then "it's pretty much nothing" pretty much sums it up...

Hopefully this means a MAJOR upgrade is around the corner. (4.3 I think is a pipe dream, but 4.2.2 and Sense 5 could be realsitic considering the international One X already has it). Reason I say this is if I recall correctly (and feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken), this hopefully will follow the same pattern (minor update followed by major update) when we first got Jelly Bean last December. Keep your fingers crossed!

Is there really any chance of an update around the corner? cuz im not sure. and I don't even care if its 4.3. I'd be just as happy with 4.2 and Sense 5, as I would with 4.3 and sense 5. ( actually i'd be happier by the latter, but marginally). i've been waiting and seeking answers, and this update is not the answer to my prayers that i had hoped for. So when do we get 4.2.2 or even if we don't get 4.2.2, ill be content with sense 5! so where is it? WHERE WHERE WHERE?! I could find waldo faster than sprint can get this thing to sense 5. come on...

Strange. My phone (EVO 4G LTE) prompted me for the update. I let it, it did its thing, and said that the update was complete. But when I look at the software version information, while it confirms that "Software version" is 3.17.651.4 71 0RD, it says that Android version is 4.1.1 and HTC Sense version is 4+. I wonder what's up with that...?

not sure if it's my imagination, but battery life and charging speed seems to have increased dramatically after the update...

Running 4.1.2 currently, and I have noticed increased performance in the battery as well.

After update, the GPS stays on all the time?!!!
