According to HTC Americas President Jason Mackenzie, a bunch of HTC One owners across North America will soon receive an update to Android 4.3. He just sent out the following tweet.

Good news – the latest Sense experience & Android 4.3 will push to One Dev Edition owners this week & One customers in Canada by month end.

This news comes more as confirmation than as a surprise. Mr. Mackenzie sent out a tweet last month asserting that Android 4.3 was coming out for all US and Canadian HTC Ones by the end of September. Today's tweet verifies that developers and our neighbors to the north will be in for a treat by early next week at the latest.

Evidence of the impending update has also appeared elsewhere. Rogers has posted that the update is due out by late September. TELUS, on the other hand, says that their update will be due out in early October.

As for the US, well, Mackenzie had this to share:

We're still working hard & optimistic for U.S. carrier certification – stay tuned to @HTCUSA for more news soon.

And that's that. HTC still looks committed to getting Android 4.3 out to existing HTC One owners as soon as possible, but we don't yet have an ETA stateside. Hopefully if the update doesn't hit at the same time as the Canadian rollout, it will follow not too long after.
