If you've been reading AP for the last couple of years, then you've probably heard about Apps World and know what this post is all about. If you're a newcomer to our readership and are also a developer, listen up – we've got a pair of tickets to one of the best app developer conferences around to give away.

I guess we should start off by talking about what Apps World is before we get too far ahead of ourselves, eh? In a nutshell, it's a series of conferences held in various parts of the globe where developers can get together and network, learn crucial skills at the many talks, and find like-minded folks to potentially collaborate with. It's a shindig like no other. This particular giveaway is for the European event, which takes place in Earl's Court, London on October 22nd and 23rd.

This giveaway is for the event only. You are responsible for your own transportation, lodging, and any other associated expenses. The ticket is non-transferable, so please, don't enter if you can't go.

This contest is now over.

The final results are listed below. If you've won, you will be contacted in the near future. Congratulations!

Everyone else - keep participating and stay tuned to Android Police so that you don't miss our upcoming giveaway announcements. You can follow AP on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and RSS.

As you can see, this conference is no joke. There are some big names there, including Woz himself! You'll also find speakers from companies like Twitter, Citibank, Google, Bloomberg, Disney, and Visa, just to name a few.

Before we get to how you can potentially score a free in though, let's talk about tickets. The interesting thing about conferences such as this is that there are multiple events and days to choose from. You can figure out what exactly you're interested in and pay anywhere from £300 to £995 depending on when you buy your ticket. There's even a free pass that'll get you in the door to walk around and check out the various "worlds."

image

Of course, when we give things away, we like to go as big as we possibly can. Thus, this giveaway is for two 2-day Gold Passes, which sell right now for £920 (£995 after the 20th of September).

So how do you get your name in the hat? Drop a comment down below and tell us why you want to go. We'll read through the entries and pick our two favorites. Easy as pie.

The giveaway starts now and will run until Friday, September 20th at 11:59 PM PT.

Good luck!

Reader note: I'm not participating, just commenting.

I've never really heard of appworld before, but to have the Woz there along with people from Google surely has to be a sight worth seeing. Hopefully if I do ever get the chance to visit London, I'll be able to attend the conference.

  • Jeff Miller

I would love to attend as it would help propel my Google Glass for Fire and EMS projects into the stratosphere. Being able to interact with such high level minds and developers will help me reach my goal of creating life saving apps for Glass.

  • iam_rob

I want to go because us indie developers need to be represented, how can a full time Indie app developer like myself (Floating Notifications) be expected to afford a ticket at £995 :O That would feed me for months lol

  • Pieter-Jan Voskamp

I'd love to go as I moved from the Netherlands to London only half a year ago. These kind of events make it great to live here! I'm a designer for a living, but I'm really interested in the development side as well.

And on top of that, it's close to where I live.

  • sandroforbice

I will be happy to learn as much as I can to port all this knowledge to the Android World! ^_^

  • Julio

I've recently started working on developing an app I've been wanting to make for a long time. Seeing as how all the current nutrition apps are lacking in critical areas, I decided to take matters into my own hands; took the semester off from college and invested a large chunk of my savings in purchasing parts to build a server/pc and workstation for my app. I was not aware that this conference existed prior to this post; I attempted to purchase a ticket for Google I/O with no luck and had given up on developer conferences. This trip would be a great opportunity to look for some partners as well as get some great tips for making my company successful and expand my currently nonexisting developer network.

  • hyperbolic

Find one more sponsor for the flight tickets and count me in :X

  • Joel Lockey

I want to go because I've just started a computing science degree and would love to specialise in app development :)

  • Matthew Apostolou

I am a South African Web and Android app developer (part-time) and a full-time medical student and will be in London in October/November.this year. The Android Development Scene in South Africa is rather small but there is a lot of potential!

I strongly feel that an opportunity to attend such an event would be a fantastic way to bring more attention to Android Development in South Africa/Africa and hopefully increase the number of developers interested in the Android Platform (not to forget the huge boost in web traffic to the Android Police website :P).

Combining medicine and mobile technology is the way of the future- there are so many ways we can use technology today to lower morbidity and mortality rates both locally and internationally. Attending such an event would only help an aspiring doctor gain the crucial skills needed for such an undertaking, while meeting like-minded folks who could help to make these dreams a reality!

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Cameron Summerson

      Great answer, you're in! Congratulations!

      • Matthew Apostolou

Wow fantastic, Cameron! Thank you so much - I can't wait!

I am a doctor from greece and would like to enter the world of app developing so i see this as my chance to get to know everything about it. I am also a big fan of technology and download many apps everyday. I consider your site the best for android platform and would like to thank you for the chance that you give us.

I would have loved to be at Apps World since I love tech and making apps and applications for any devices that I can get my hands on. A conference like this could really inspire me to make even better apps. Also, Google is there which is enough for me to get excited :)

Hi, well i want to go cause i'm a young developper, actually i'm working alone on a local transit app. And if i got access to a such event once back home i could find a sponsor! so that way you will guys be really helpful for me. Of course all i need is the ticket! i do know that i'm going, no need to worry about my transportation. Thanks :)

  • Steph Chi

Why me ? Because I am from France and you'd love ear me speaking more fluent english !!
And more seriously, 2 decades in IT working on networks, then acting as system architect but always in love with writing new apps, so AppsWorld is like the cherry on top of the cake ;-) And I can afford the travel to London (New York was a great destination too, but more expensive ... and I didn't win :P)
NB : not using Google Translation ... but you already know it ;-))

  • laszlo gaspar

Steve Wozniak is a brilliant speaker and i have never seen him speak on any subject live so to be able to go to apps world would be an amazing experience.

  • kodinos

Clouds take away my vitamin D on a daily basis. Give me a break, don't take away from me this opportunity to have some fun!

  • Austyn Cornwell

or... you just get a job in the lighting industry and gain free access to all areas as this happens to be one of my sites.

Ok, so here's why I'd like to attend this year's Apps World:

    1. So I can have a photo with Steve Wozniak (that would be possible, right?), which I'd post everywhere online, with a caption in the lines of "powered by Android Police," or something like that.

    2. To meet Mike McCue and thank him for Flipboard (great work!); meet Phil Libin and hand him a thank you note -- in Russian -- for Stepan Pachikov (If I start learning now, I should be proficient by then right?).

    3. Now this is important: meet the makers of S.M.T.H. (they'd be there, right?) and ask them WTF! I'll start practicing how to make carrots pop, as that should help me find them in the middle of such a large crowd.

Ps: as a side note, I'd mention that I also speak Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and some basic Mandarin (level HSK1). Hmm... they'll all speak English, right?

  • Jorn van Dam

I'm an Enthusiastic newby at developping with a capital E. In one years time I've spend countless hours on learning iOS sdk, Android and even QT framework for creating really cool (sometimes useless :) ) apps. I've now filtered out a few potential "starkickers". I now have the technology to create a really cool indoor navigational (not to be confused with positioning) app combining all the known tools (wifi, bluetooth, magnetic radiation, accelerometer, etc) which works even better (to my opinon :) ) then the things Google is working on. A second project I'm working on is a really cool VDI enviroment for educational uses (I'm also a parttime teacher in primary school).
I would love to pitch these and other ideas to the demi-gods of software development! This good be the start of a very chearfull future! :)

  • Adam Goldberg

I would love to see the Izard of Woz live. Yeah I did say it that way intentionally. and yes, I am a pun star. I work in the Punography field. But seriously. The man is like a technological abe lincoln. Except Not even Daniel Day Lewis would be able to nail an Woz part.

  • Salkras

I am really wanting to get into developing apps, and to have someone as inspirational as Steve Wozniak is just amazing.

  • biftekman

I want to go because as a young developer it's a perfect place to extend my ideas, share knowledge and eventually give the world something new and awesome you shall love and even write about here at AP.
