Have you been waiting with bated breath for news of the Verizon Wireless Moto X? Well, Big Red has made its Moto X signup page live so you can get the "latest information" on the device. I'm sure that's accurate. They wouldn't take your email, then wait days after the official release date is announced to let you know, right? At least not again.

2013-08-12 09_08_33-Moto X _Get the Moto X from Verizon Wireless - Verizon Wireless

The signup page offers a few tidbits of information. First, the device is going to be available "in the coming weeks," but that isn't really a surprise. The Moto X will be sold in white or black to start, with Moto Maker customization coming later this year (after the AT&T exclusivity period). Again, this is just confirming something we already knew. Perhaps most interesting, there is only one Verizon logo on the device. And it's tasteful. Somehow, the carrier restrained the urge to plaster its name all over this phone.

So, put in your email if you want to have all your bases covered. Just don't expect to get vital information in a timely manner from Verizon.

they forgot to put the stupid huge 4GLTE logo! probably its a fake picture!

They added an entire dedicated 4G icon to the notification bar though, instead of leaving it integrated with the signal strength like in stock Android. How obnoxious.

      • Freak4Dell

That's part of Motoblur, so it isn't necessarily Verizon's doing.

        • Adam Truelove

          And it should die!!!

          • Freak4Dell

Meh...I'll take one little icon over the barrage of crap that other OEMs slap all over Android.

      • Adam Truelove

        YES, I HATE this!!!!

Also, when you're on Wifi this icon goes away and leaves a nice big blank spot where it was.

It's this kind of crap I hate. I don't care how close to stock it is, it's not stock. If they want to add features, fine, but leave the interface alone. There was no reason to add this stupid extra icon, or change the number of signal bars from 4 to 5, or make the hotseat transparent, or change ANY aesthetics in ANY way AT ALL. They actually pay software people at Motorola to take stuff that already works and change it for no reason whatsoever.

Make a new camera app if it's better, that's fine. Add some extra voice capability. But leave the freaking OS itself alone.

      • abqnm

        AT&T does this too.

      • LiterofCola

        It's been like this forever.

  • Floris

Now if they only could drop the awful checkmark..

  • Josh

    That went better than expected.

  • Ryan O’Neill

Wait I thought this phone had 4GLTE?? What happened!!!

  • merman1983

If I wait and go for the wood option will they burn the VZW logo into the back?

  • Leandros99

This is totally acceptable in my eyes... Well played.

  • simp1istic

Ironically, this time, Verizon has LESS branding. They don't fucking put their shitty carrier ID in the status bar like AT&T insists on doing.

    • Kenton Douglas

Remember that AT&T are the lead carrier for this device (it essentially replaces the Atrix HD). The achievement is getting across all carriers, with no logo on the front bezels.

      • simp1istic

The fact that that is an achievement is a total joke. The US Wireless industry sucks, and so does AT&T's shitty logo in my Status bar!

        • Kenton Douglas

Agreed. But how are you going to change that fact while these carriers 'own' the spectrum? :(

          • simp1istic

Well, technically and theoretically we (the public) own the spectrum! Thank your government!

  • bholt6

I'm pretty sure this has been up on Verizon's site for a little over a week...

Nowadays there are a lot of rumors about Nexus 5. What do you think will Motorolla be making the next Nexus or LG ???? http://www.mobileosworld.com/2013/08/android-43-update-breaks-compatibility.html

  • Johny M

The other logo in the front only shows after you sign the contact

  • Brandon Jiang

The most annoying thing is how the Wifi icon has a giant gap between it and the signal bar. Kinda pathetic moto hasn't fixed this up yet

  • Rastor

Just posting to say thank you for spelling "bated" correctly.

  • shojus

Boy, Would have liked a damn signup page for the HTC One that still has not emerged... It's already outdated now and Verizon is THE worst with launches! They have me on their unlimited plan though so I try to deal. ;)

  • and_dude_3

Waiting for Moto X on Verizon, the best network. This device is certainly pushing the limits of mobile computing into context awareness
