Prospective second-gen Nexus 7 buyers, you've got one more option for when the Play Store is (probably) overwhelmed on July 30th. Staple has already posted pages for the 16GB and 32GB WiFi versions of the new Nexus 7, though of course you can't buy one just yet - they're both marked as out of stock. Staples was one of 11 retail partners mentioned in the Google announcement. The prices are the standard $229.99 and $269.99, respectively.

The good news: based on my own experiences, Staples tends to put new hardware products on sale the morning of their release, so you can stroll down to the local brick and mortar retailer to hunt for one. The bad news, also based on my own experience, is that they tend to have only a few units of any given tablet on hand at each retail store. Their online listings can be a bit sluggish as well.

Of course, retail employees have been known to put a new product out before the official time on occasion, and the new Nexus 7 looks an awful lot like the old one. You might just keep an eye on the tablet aisle if you need to pick up a new printer cartridge or something.
