We all like free things. We also like getting things done without hassle (that's why smartphones are a thing in the first place, right?). When those two things come together, though, it's worth talking about. Amazon must recognize this fact, as it's offering up some fantastic productivity apps today without charge.

Among the freebies, you'll find some pretty solid names:

It's hard to say how long these deals will go on – it may just be for today only. If that's the case, better grab 'em before it's over.

Amazon; Thanks, Aalu!

    Cameron,

Not trying to be pedantic or nothing but were you meant to start the article with "Well all like free things."

    • Brian Utne

      Damn auto-correct! ;)

        Haha, I know right!

      Fixed it earlier, thanks.

You know me, I'm more than happy to help Artem.

  • sssgadget

I would rather buy on Google play than install another app store like Amazon.

This could be good for Kindle owners or users of devices without play store or root.

    • ins0mn1a

yes, me too. however, documents to go full version is $15 normally, so that might be worth a bit of amazon appstore sideloading pain for many people.

  • Cristian

    Thank you for this!!!

  • Elias

If I could just have had a brief description of what each of them do and a brief comparison to similar apps without having to search each of them at GPRS speeds, that would be great.

    • ins0mn1a

i don't think making full reviews of every app on sale somewhere is a reasonable use of writers' time. i do understand your pain though ;).

having said that, does anyone know if there is any advantage in using wifi file explorer over airdroid? airdroid file transfer is very slow for me. is wifi file explorer any faster?

Most android apps published on Amazon dont get updated by developer. it stays the same version for years when play store get updates. I will skip amazon

    • Sergii Pylypenko

I once published a free game to Amazon Appstore, got 600 installs for 6 months versus 100K on Google Play, so as a developer I don't care anymore about 3rd party stores.

    • Funem

Sometimes it goes the other way. The London standard newspaper app on Amazon, blow the ones on google play away and the paid version of fruit ninja on Amazon is the latest version, not so on the play store. There are other examples as well.

  • lordmerovingian

Too bad it's the Amazon app store and not the regular Play store. Most of these I already have anyway, but kudos.

  • Funem

Those are the older versions of Splashtop, the latest version is "Splashtop personal", the old version was updated automatically on the Play store to the personal edition if you had it already. Other than that they are all great apps.
I wish people would stop knocking the Amazon store, its getting a bit of a joke. Don't want the app store, don't install it. I have never had a problem with it, and the free app of the day is a bonus. Some people only have the option of the app store. If the only comment you have in posts like this is "I don't like/want/see the point of the app store" then don't bother posting, the point has been made... many times, mostly by the same people.

  • Gandalf_Teh_Gray

Thanks I've had Splashtop "test" app for free a while that only worked over wifi, now I can have the version that works over cell networks on my phone.

  • Dave

    Thanks for the heads up!

  • Mathieu Valotaire

    gone

  • Abel

    yup its gone ! :(

  • Dany Bouffard

I guess this deal is only for US peoples, cause at my canadian store those apps are at full price.
