Carbon, one of the most hotly anticipated Twitter clients to ever come to Android, got an update today to version 1.2, bringing with it a ton of useful enhancements.

First among these is the ability to browse from links or watch YouTube videos in the app, saving time that would otherwise be spent leaving the app to see content somewhere else.

The update also adds Vine preview/playback, people search, a new image viewer, the ability to save images, optional style tweaks (like changing tweet font size), and the ability to change notification frequency, among other things.

    Loving it.

How does this compare to Plume?

    • NuLLnVoiD

I've tried them all, including Carbon. I still stick with Plume.

        And Falcon?

        • Nishanth

Falcon is another level of awesomeness.

  • Matt Hodson

I had issues with the app freezing when I went in to DMs and had to uninstall. Maybe some day I'll give it another chance as it is a beautiful app.

no auto refresh of timeline? still not good enough. it took us half a year to get this update? I would have figured we would have gotten something massive...

  • numpty

Frankly, I dunno why people still bother writing Twitter apps that are just straightforward timeline readers. Those are the ones Twitter are gunning for most, and they'll all be gone or useless before long.

    • Rami

And Google already says this has been downloaded 100.000-500.000 downloads, so any moment the tokens will be exhausted, why bother try it even.

  • scuttlefield

Still not compatible with my Nexus 10? Sorry.

  • Rob

I lost interest in Carbon a long time ago (1st when its release was overdue and shortly after using it). Now I'm using Tweedle (http://bit.ly/10TVODq) and enjoying it quite a lot.

    • Nishanth

Still no lists support on Tweedle. Moving on..

      • Rob

Not sure what level of "list support" you need, but I know that Tweedle has support for displaying existing lists in a column. Go to: menu button > edit columns > + > list.

  • RTWright

I still use Plume, like it's UI and functionality better.
