The HTC One is a beautiful device. At a time when most Android phones are made of plastic, HTC betted on aluminum for its flagship device. The handset just exudes style and class, but there is something it's missing. It screams premium, but it doesn't quite say ... elite. If only it were made of gold. Now that would be a quality device. While we can't expect HTC of all companies to have the visionary mindset necessary to deliver such a product, the fine folks over at Goldgenie understand class. They have produced an HTC One available in 24ct gold.

Gold HTC One

The HTC One can be cased in gold ($2436.03), rose gold ($2693.12), and platinum ($2564.57). Each version of this elite phone is available in silver or black and comes with either 32GB or 64GB of internal memory. If the HTC One isn't the phone for you, Goldgenie has previously debuted a gold-plated version of the Galaxy S4. This might be just the solution for Samsung fans who are tired of those plastic-y backs.

When is the giveaway for one of these?

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ David Ruddock

      *Gold not included.

      • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

        Also *HTC One not included.

  • Cuvis

At least they're doing this with decent phones. Usually, when I see one of these blinged-out monstrosities, it's either a feature phone or an Android phone so underspecced as to be useless.

No tacked-on giant gemstones either. This could almost be mistaken for tasteful.

    • Cory_S

I'd consider one of these if I was so wealthy the price would be relative to what a 600 dollar phone cost me at my current salary.

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

Seriously. Like the piece of shit Vertu.

      • KRS_Won

        Porsche Blackberry... Lambo Android...

  • bimsebasse

These posts never tell how much the golden device weighs.

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ David Ruddock

      1 HTC One + 24 carats.

      • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

        Which is roughly 3 carrots.

        • Alexei Watson

          with stems?

          • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

What part of roughly do you not understand? Jeez. I can't work in this environment!

          • Alexei Watson

            OK, I understand completely.

            3 rough carrots, without stems.

            and a pear.

      • Alexei Watson

24 karat means it is pure gold (1 karat = 1/24th pure gold)

24 carat means the weight of the precious material is 24 x 200mg (0.2g) = 4.8g of gold

I would assume they meant to use karat instead of carat - 4.8g of gold is surely not a lot.

        • Riff Raff

No.. the stamping on the back of the phone is 24ct not 24k. It's gold-plated which is why it's carat and not karat...

I'd lose respect instantly for anyone using that case.

      • Haunter

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you're a guy... not making you a part of the target demo for such a thing.

        • guidomus_maximus

Current bid is .01 and has been for 2 days.

          • Haunter

That means absolutely nothing. I see girls with cases like these all the time.

    • guidomus_maximus

That would make it, the Ugly One

    • john

that case is for HTC One X

  • cy_n_ic

Au-some title for the article ;)

  • ScottColbert

Does it come with a gold plated bluetooth ear piece for that extra douche factor?

  • guidomus_maximus

This would be the Ghetto One?

  • Alexei Watson

Some people are so poor that all they have is money.

  • Drew

That is not classy at all. Do they require you to live in the ghetto before you can purchase. So trashy looking.
