Galaxy-Note-8-300x300

If you are in search of a tablet that's not too big and not to small, today is your lucky day. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is on sale through eBay at the reasonable price of $349.99. That's about $30 less than what it's going for on Amazon. You also get $25 in Google Play credit free with purchase.

note

The Note 8.0 is Samsung's mid-range Android 4.1 tablet. It lacks the higher resolution of some more expensive tablets (1280x800) and only has 16GB of storage. There is a microSD card slot, though. It runs on Samsung's 1.6 GHz Exynos 4400 and has 2GB of RAM. There is no cell radio in this device – WiFi is your sole connection to the outside world.

To get the Google Play credit the device has to be registered at Samsung's website with the serial number, MAC, and an email address. Then you get the promo code via email. Easy, right?

I want one, but I won't buy a white one. What were they thinking?

International Black One with 3G capabilites = Perfect!

comes with a giftcard? doesnt it already come with a $25 giftcard?

  • Matt

Mid range? I dont think a quad core 1.6ghz with 2gb of ram is mid range. The screen may be 1280x800 but that is higher than most 13" laptops. the screen is fantastic in day to day usage.

Exynos 4400 series is a year old, and the Cortex-A9 architecture is a few years older than that. Definitely not a top chip anymore.

Who cares? Still one of the fastest tablets out there. Less lag than the Nexus 7 and 10 (which has better specs). It embarrasses the only competition in its size category the iPad mini. Slightly better specs as Galaxy Note 2, which is still a top 3 smartphone. Screen looks great too, despite the resolution. Then again, I was never a pixel snob. Also, I no longer need to replace notebook after notebook and pen after pen. Pen and paper are dead to me now.

I am a long time Nexus supporter, but Samsung is getting everything right that Google has been getting wrong. Nexus is starting to fell like the Beta OS it really is. Don't get me wrong, I still love Google and Android in general, but I have seen more innovation from Samsung as of late than Google. I mean, lock screen widgets? Really?

Hah..the iPad Mini blows it away in every category. Stop buying into Samsung's marketing nonsense.

          • Peemee

            Not too bright are ya?

          • Idon’t Know

Hah, Internet teenagers are funny. Especially when they say things they would never say in person.

Like you aren't buying into the church of apple's gospel?

Wish AP wasn't so cynical. Why post a deal alert if you are going to be so negative?

I don't even think @RyanWhitwam:disqus was that negative at all about it. He simply described it and the deal.

      I'd call this a mid-to-high-end.

      Exynos 4.
      Android 4.1

      Nexus 10 is high end.

      Exynos 5.
      Android 4.2.

But yeah, it's a really sweet tablet. And there's another deal coming up for it right now, for $5 cheaper.

  • DMSammons

I own this tablet! It's amazing!! I was using the multi-screen function yesterday....it blew my mind!! It's the best tablet on the market, hands down. No other tablet does what the Note 8 does as well as it does it....

  • Peemee

Yeah, I own one too. Really is the best tablet out there. Extremely fast and functional. Size is perfect too. Also, you do get the $25 play store credit AND 50 free GB of Dropbox storage which does not expire.

      Cheap plastic.
      Slow.
      Bloated.
      Overpriced.
Poor color and contrast on the screen like everything Samsung makes.
Quad core proc that Android OS and apps can't use so just creates heat and better waste.
Touchwiz features that don't work but add lag and bloat.

  • Down8

Son of a bitch! I just bought the Nexus 10. Was really looking forward to the Note 8 until the price. I would have been all over this.

  • Mystery Man

multiwindow on a tablet would be awesome.

  • Idon’t Know

    That's still $50 too much.
