Electronic Arts' mobile racing magnum opus has been downloaded more than ten million times worldwide on Android alone, and it doesn't look like they're ready to stop adding content any time soon. The latest update to Real Racing 3 is a doozie, adding a new manufacturer and cars, a brand new racing venue, and more than 50 challenges and events for the dedicated virtual driver. The game is free and so is the update, though you'll still have to put up with the annoying time-based in-app purchase system.

The update adds racing-tuned Lexus cars to the garage, though only two are available at the moment: the Lexus IS-F and the drool-worthy LFA. Both V8 versions of the Dodge Charger have been added as well, the Charger RT and SRT8. The new track is based off of the real-world venue of the Dubai Autodrome, a 3.35-mile (5.4km) track focused mostly on Formula 1 races. Check out our full review for an in-depth look at the initial release.

Remember that EA Android games are released in North America and Rest Of World flavors, so hit up the relevant widget below to go to the Play Store page for your version. Real Racing 3 is available for Android 2.3.3 and higher, and required an enormous 1.2GB of free space - tiered data customers, consider yourself warned.

serious question, why do you guys continue to support this game by giving it screen time, which is arguably free advertising, the game is at its core broken, the ftp model it utilises is terrible, which you outlined in your own articles on the games release and it should not be supported in anyway so that EA may learn, as far as im concerned since its launch and global panning for terrible practices it shouldnt have been writing about in the media again unless the headline read "EA dumps FTP model from RR"

You know what, I was amongst those very critical of EA to what they did with the Real Racing brand. However, having put some 80+ hours into the game, I will tell this to you - Real Racing 3 actually has a really good freemium model. Nothing in the game is "ungettable". No locked content whatsoever. And as opposed to most of the freemium crap out there which pushes you more towards IAPs the further you get into the game, this is the total opposite. If you can weather through the initial 3-4 hours, you really have a premium game for free. Of course, going freemium affected the design of the game, but otherwise this really is something I'd rather have over all the other freemium models out there.

PS: Of course no freemium at all is still the best. :)

Although I won't but any iap's, I voted with my wallet and bought rr2 when it was 99 coins. playing rr2 while waiting for rr3 is good. Rr3 is also mouse compatible woke paying on a monitor which is nice (rr2 isn't).

Rr3 doesn't support repays which is a shame and the iap model dissades me from purchasing upgrades.

The best thing to do is just to treat it as a gave you'll never compete and just play it casually or be happy to grind.

If truth be told that's what Gran Turismo (psp) did. You had to wait random days in order to get certain cars to turn up in the dealer showrooms and had to grind ridiculous amounts of laps and races to afford even one f1 car.

I don't like the menu though. It's like gt ps3; too busy. Rr2 is simple and I understand where I'm progressing. Rr3 is a step back imo.
Ignoring the iap's, it's like free version of gt psp.

Play it with rr2 and you'll have a blast.

Note: The Japanese market has the game as a download instead of an update, even though I got the game from the same store. Considering that there are always user reviews of EA games stating that "the update wiped my data", I'd be extremely wary of installing a new game, lest it overwrite the previous.
