It kinda bothers me that so many of the offers are from amazon. Which in lame mans terms mean "only good enough for US residents".

    So, thank you.

Isn't the Appstore open in hundreds of countries now?

      • James

The google play store is. The amazon app store says this:
Why can't I buy Android apps from Amazon in my country?
At this time, we're only able to offer Android apps and associated content to our customers in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, and United Kingdom.

      • Angelo Allegra

Yes, but for example in Amazon.it (Italy here) the app is not available for free.
If I log in at Amazon.com it tells me I can't get the app: "You are not eligible to purchase this app due to geographical restrictions."

Thanks for nothing, Amazon, really. Heh.

Er, "lame mans"? Perhaps you mean "layman's."

And anyway, the Amazon app store is available in a large part of Europe as well.

I like that play on words Andreas, "lame" ;-)

Am I missing something? Android hadn't received humans and lazers and pipes campaigns yet for the sandbox.

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

They sent us a combined PR but didn't make a distinction between all the IAP items.

      • Kevin Aaronson

Gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up.

I snagged Soundhound Infinity when it was Amazon's free app of the day and it's great, I like it much better than Shazam! It's been great at identifying songs (sometimes has problems with remixes or live versions) and even scrolls the lyrics after the ID is made.

    • LadyDi

Highly agree with you about SoundHound Infinity. One of the great apps from Amazon. If I had a complaint about the app, it would be that I do not like that stuff beneath the HUGE yellow box that I press to get that song.

I've been waiting for Tapatalk... thanks!

Hi, quick question, you are saying that Tapatalk is probably permantly free on the Amazon App store. Can I ask, what is this based on?

  • Lady Di

I'm picking up Beautiful Widgets if I can. In process now...

    • Lady Di

      Thanks for this post Ryan!!
