Here's hoping all of our readers are having a peaceful Mother's Day. If any of you gave your mom a Google Play Store gift certificate (and your mother is particularly fond of action games or weather widgets) you might point her towards this story for a few bargain-priced suggestions. Sega has a couple of their Android ported games on sale, and Minecraft is discounted over on Amazon. The surprisingly powerful eWeather HD/Radar HD is also on sale, along with the gaming-focused remote access suite Kainy.

Minecraft Pocket Edition is on sale, but only on the Amazon Appstore. It'll work for just about everything - this is not a Kindle-specific release.

We'll be updating this story if we see any more notable sales.

Bought Minecraft for $0.25 when it was celebrating Google's something or another. Never played it.

Wanting a tired meme on a T-shirt is the first indicator of NOT having a sense of humor.

that kainy thing sounds cool. looks better than the makeshift thing i do with splashtop remote desktop

  • Chong Kok Hoong

Kainy and Splashtop, which one is actually better? For gaming or normal remote purpose. Also, Kairy seems to support internet/3G/4G access from external network, how good does that work in real world?

    • http://www.facebook.com/kreatoorn Umut Tan

Tried both. Splashtop is really great.

      • Chong Kok Hoong

but how's Kainy compared to splashtop? I see mixed review in the app page, Splashtop no doubt is good but charges u if you try to access from external networks, plus, the result on my desktop is not as ideal as they say during gaming for splashtop

If I buy minecraft from amazon, will it be available on Google play too? or will I have to always download amazon thing to download the game if I delete it?

edit: Is multiplayer available on Minecraft? :)

    • http://www.twitter.com/ninjustin ninjustin

No and yes. If you get if from Amazon you have to have Amazon's app store installed to both download and run Minecraft any time in the future.

Also Minecraft supports "WiFi games." I assume that means LAN play and not direct WiFi connection. I've never used it though and it's only for mobile to mobile play.

If you buy from amazon you have to get your updates from amazon. Also you must have the amazon app store installed at all times to use apps from the amazon app store.
