Spotify's bringing it down to the flo'. Nah, not really, but kind of. The crew behind the venerable music service has released an app update on Google Play, and among bug fixes and a playlist-sorting enhancement, a unique feature is listed in the changelog: "This app looks great in trousers."

yes

The most significant change is playlist and track sorting. The app also now remembers what you were listening to when you last logged out. Couple that with playlist view improvements, and the new Spotify is perfect for a party in your... living room.

Or rich notifications, a proper tablet app, displaying the artist in a font that isn't the smallest one possible, a better way to look at more of an artist's music that's currently playing... the list goes on.

At least we got the new logo...

And it looks great in your pants.

Artem's got a point here. The Spotify team really knows what's up!

Exactly why they don't deserve my money.

Same. Wish they would make a tablet app for Android already though...

+1. Spotify and switching from Sprint to AT&T has changed my life.

    • Stingray

OK... honestly.... why is Sprint so bad? Is their 4G not the same as Big red/AT&T/T-Mo's 4G?

      • HopelesslyFaithful

correct it is still young and not well developed but i'll gladly wait since i despise the other companies

They don't even have LTE in the part of San Francisco where I am, and where they do have it, it's slow and spotty. They only cover maybe 5% of what Verizon or AT&T cover right now and are very behind.

T-Mobile is not far ahead either but it'll accelerate a lot faster as they're much more prepared for the LTE rollout. So Sprint will be dead last for a long time.

And their 3G is absolute shit. I'd be lucky to get 100kbps most of the time, up or down.

Also adds a "Device Broadcast Status" for "allow[ing] other apps on your device to see what you are listening to"

I wish they would put play/pause/skip in the notification bar. Also the sorting is a bit thin on the ground, all I see is by A-Z or Z-A.

If you asked me, it is always good to have an app that looks good in pants. There are apps on the Play Store that still look dat ugly that you wouldn't want to take your phone out of your pants to use them.

  • Guillaume Hermans

Aargh! The app still can't remember what I was listening to if I restart it more than several minutes later. I thought the last point (above the pants one) was supposed to fix this?
Seriously, am I the only one to think that this is a major bug in a music app?

Rich notifications would have been nice too.
Also, I tried to put the app in my trousers, and I'm not impressed...

But it still is a good news that some developpers seem to be working on this app!

Landscape mode works fine with Rotation Control

I heard that there was an exploit in the Spotify Web Player that has recently been patched.

I would just like the ability to add a whole album to a playlist and a playlist to another playlist more easily

No idea how long I've had my account. Signed up shortly after it was released in the UK and not long after I got Premium. My favourite service by far only let down by their reluctance to listen to the customers and do something for the tablets!
