moviefone

Allow me to be blunt for a moment: AOL's Moviefone was in desperate need of a makeover. Sure, back in the day the styling was appropriate – but now we want Holo. Everywhere.

Good news: the most recent update to Moviefone ditches the old tabbed-style interface for a much nicer-looking Holo-esque interface and dark color scheme. It really is quite nice looking – especially in comparison to the former version:

See how much better that looks? But that's just one page – the new theme really ties the whole app together well.

Now that you should have a good idea of how much better v2 looks, head below to grab the app. Or just hit the update button if you already have it installed and "fall in love with Moviefone all over again."

As someone who constantly focuses on design in Android, I see so much wrong with this app. A huge improvement sure, but tabs on top of tabs, legacy menu button? They obviously made their own action bar.

Some buttons still like with Android 2.x.x and iOS style. Ugly for me.

This is a fantastic app. Way to go MovieFone team!
