It's a big day for our neighbors to the north! The HTC One hit store shelves this morning, which is a fairly big deal in itself. If you're not in the market for a new phone (or just aren't into the One for whatever reason), but happen to be looking for a new tablet instead, another outstanding device hit Canadian retailers today as well: the Galaxy Note 8.0.

The Note 8.0 is Sammy's newest entry into the eight inch slate market, which also brings most of the best features from the Note 10.1 and Note II along for the ride. I've actually been playing with the Note 8.0 for the last day, and I can say this: it's one of the best tablets I've ever used. The sheer amount of functionality out of this device easily runs circles around other tablets, and the eight-inch form factor is essentially perfect in size. It's a great little device.

You can grab one today at Best Buy, Future Shop, and Staples, though you'll have to hit up each one to get pricing info.

Hopefully this opens up the device for more developers. While I'm loving the crap out of mine, we don't yet have any working roms, a recovery, or even a forum on XDA (but we do have root, thankfully) This makes me a sad panda.

What is Samsung's problem with actually putting 32 or 64GB of internal RAM into the device + microSD slot. You can't put apps on the SD card anymore you need more than 16GB of storage. I would have bought this but no 32GB = No Sale.

Oh and they did such a great job with the Galaxy Note 10.1 on Verizon 16GB w/ LTE, wow, what a great choice. No wonder iPads continue to outsell the competition, they don't have any.

Yeah, what's up with that, man? I was shocked to see that you can't move apps to SD anymore on the Note II.

yeah a while back i was about to return my brand new galaxy s3 but i ended figuring out a workaround which allowed me to keep it. but i do NOT like having to resort to this work around and one more app running on background means more apps get shut down against my will when multi tasking (sixaxiscontroller + game + directory bind = occasionally one of them shutting down when the other comes into foreground. trying to fit all that PLUS a fourth app for screenshots that i like to use to make touch profiles for sixaxis - is hell on earth)

The pic posted is the international version, not the Canadian. There is no ear speaker on the Canadian version. You guys are gonna make idiots run out and get the Canadian Note 8.0 thinking they can make calls on it. I love the irony of this & the name of this site.
