imgur

Everyone's favorite image hosting site has just made its way into the Play Store. Of course I'm referring to Imgur, "the simple image sharer." Unfortunately, the app is georestricted to Australia during its beta period, so those of us in the rest of the world will have to wait a bit to get our hands on it.

Those who can use it, however, will be able to browse through Imgur's content, comment and vote on images, upload directly from their device, manager their account, and more. So, basically, everything that can be done on the site, just from a phone or tablet.

If you're in the right location, hit the widget below to grab it.

Thanks, Hans!

Can anyone verify if this is a good apk or crap

          • vonapets

I downloaded it from the play store as soon as I saw it was Australia only and being australian I thought I would help out. I am currently using the app so its good.

[Off-topic] Just dates next to posts on AP home page are not enough. Need 'minutes ago' and 'hours ago' like those Social Networks. ;)

Is there a Share intent to upload an image from Gallery?

    • http://geniousatplay.blogspot.com/ Bikram Agarwal

Read this review - "It needs a share intent receiver so i can share my photo to imgur and have it uploaded, then a link copied back to me."

So, maybe it doesn't have share intent. If so, it's useless to me. The only reason I'd want this app on my device is so that I don't have to manually upload images to it when I want to publicly share something. Hit share from any image app, select imgur and boom - image uploaded, link copied to clipboard. If that's not happening,.... :(

Hope they have this by the time they release it in USA.

    Why Australia, hah?

    • Melvin

      Australia, America, Australia, America!

    • Ray

It's about time us Aussie's got something before the US. Usually it's the other way around.

    • Tony Guglielmi

We launched it in Australia in order to have a smaller user base testing the app as we fix some bugs before we launch on our biggest user bases.

I agree with other commenters - this is useless without a share intent receiver.

We are adding this on in the next day on the android beta

        That's fantastic, good work!
