About six months ago, Google expanded the portfolio of countries with access to Play Music for the first time since its launch in the US. Today, seven more countries were added to that list: Austria, Australia, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, and Portugal.

Google announced on Google+ that the aforementioned nations had been added to the list of supported countries for Play Music, which should be accessible at this URL, as well as via the Play Store on your Android device. The Play Music app should also now be available. What are you waiting for? Start uploading those 20,000 songs!

Been waiting a long time for this. Awesome news.

  • Mehmet Fatih YILDIRIM

Will it ever be available in Turkey? :)

    • http://GPlus.to/Abhisshack Abhisshack D

Certainly , in year 2029 just before Skynet taking the control ;-) :P

  • spacekobra

    Still no Canada? :(

    • http://twitter.com/LoBrauski Daniel Pogue

I know, I assume it's to do with some really dumb law that we have that won't allow it more than google not wanting us to have it.

      • http://twitter.com/RaspberryDuff Matt

The CRTC mandates that 10% of all downloads are Canadian content. Google Music doesn't match that, so they're not allowing it. iTunes managed to match this limit by paying Alanis Morissette $75 million to record 350 new iTunes-exclusive albums.

      • spacekobra

It usually is a stupid law involving DRM. Well, I'm glad I found 7 digital. But it doesn't have the library Google Play has.

    • Joshua

Have you tried one of those apps that fakes your location? That may help you.

      • Mike

It used to. That's how I signed up. Now they ask for a US credit card on sign up.

        • Joshua

Oh, I'm sorry. I hope you can figure something out. Best of luck with that!

        • dfgdanger

I read on reddit that you can use a Canadian credit card with a fake U.S. address - Google doesn't verify the card because they don't charge it.
          Give that a shot!

      • spacekobra

It gets you the streaming service. Which is really nice on an unlimited data plan (^_^)
But I can't buy music or enjoy all the freebies that you guys get.

Now that I think of it, I can't do that with iTunes or the Zune store either. Well, I can buy music but I don't like the cut iTunes takes.

  • Danny Holyoake

    Wonderful news :)

  • Stefan A

It's getting closer and closer to the Scandinavian coutnries! Can't wait for it to be available in Denmark where I live.

      • http://twitter.com/LiiIiikEaBau5 LiiIiikEaBau5

Not angry, we don't get anything in Nordic countries. We are the last people to get our hand into Google updates and devices and now Google Music!

As a belgian, I feel blessed today. If only they would release the nexus 4 over here...

  • Sandesh

As someone who has lived in Ireland and on the border between Belgium and Luxembourg, but who now lives in The Netherlands, I'm not really happy about this.

I think rumors for iRadio are the reason for adding new countries... FINALLY! Cuz I am pretty sure if Apple release iRadio it will roll in all countries at once... I am from Bulgaria and still waiting.. But now there is a hope! :)

    What is wrong with Brazil?

    • Flávio

You can use a proxy server to bypass it. Once the terms are accepted, you can use it freely without any proxy. You'll be asked for an american credit card. Just change the billing address of your card for any valid US address and it'll be fine. After that, you set your real billing address back.

      • http://mwinter.in/ Yan Gabriel Minário

What if I want to buy a song? Already did this trick a long time ago, but I can't buy any tune of the Store.

        • Flávio

So we'll have to wait. At least we can take advantage of being able to stream music to our devices or listen to them anywhere through the browser.

    • http://GPlus.to/Abhisshack Abhisshack D

there has to be something wrong with Brazil , because Why are They Love Orkut !!! /s

    Still no India

    • Aman Yajurvedi

I know! With iTunes there. We might not be so big on streaming music, but I have seen a lot of people buying music off Flipkart and iTunes. Word of advice, if you want to listen to explicit content, chose Flipkart (Flyte). iTunes censors.

        Every Apple iShits Sucks

      • http://GPlus.to/Abhisshack Abhisshack D

        Does Flipkart use DRM ?

        • Aman Yajurvedi

          I believe no

  • Ken-NZ

Saw this, got excited. Thought to myself surely Google will bring some reality to the prices of digital music by not indulging in the same dodgy inflated price fixing that characterises digital purchases in New Zealand.
    Another dream shattered.
Not to mention that we are still waiting on many other services such as being able to buy Google Nexus devices from the play store...

  • Sootie

Yay kinda wishing there was a way to add songs from my phone to listen on my work computer though, but I guess I'm a strange use case

  • JM

This music is not avail in india, can anyone set for me?? is there any trick to set google music??

  • selonmoi

  • Huton Gergö

So for rest of EU until Play Music go fully available must stick on pirated music :)

  • Warren Steenkamp

And as usual South Africa gets left out of everything.

  • asianrage

When will they release an updated Play Music app? I'm getting tired of all the blue colors. I love the consistent and fast streaming of my music, but I'm starting to dislike the old Honeycomb UI and the inconsistent UX.

  • GigiAUT

Now I can release my music on the mighty G!
