I still can't believe that Android Police has been around for three years now (we've just celebrated our third anniversary last week). It's been hell of a roller coaster of leaks, emotions, interesting news, editorials, contests, and... writers. You may not realize this, but in the past years, we've been through probably over 60 contributors, the strongest 11 of whom now comprise the core team.

But today is not the time for sob stories. That's not fun. What is fun, however, is figuring out just which one of the aforementioned 11 Android Police writers is your absolute favorite. Who makes you laugh? Who fascinates you? Who do you and your kids aspire to be? Don't be afraid - all voting is completely anonymous.

And now, for the main attraction of the evening. Vote away, folks.

Who is your favorite Android Police writer?

I'll happily say that one reason I love AP is that there are little spam comments. This might be the 1st one I have seen in the couple of years that I have been here!

  • http://twitter.com/rohanXm Rohan Mathur

In all seriousness though, I'd have to pick Ron, because of his really awesome and insightful teardowns. Its always a fun read!

    • http://www.theandroidsite.com benmarvin

Seriously. AP has shown themselves to be the only Android news blog that takes itself seriously. They consistently produce new, useful, substantiated content. I don't see many other android journalists (or even other journalists in other fields) do as fantastic of a job as you guys do.

The APK teardowns, fantastic sources of information. Don't see others doing this. You don't just post "Oh boy i think this is happening rumor rumor rumor." You go through the code line by line to see what it could mean. That's dedication.

Every week, the "x apps of the week." Awesome! What a great way to find apps. Original reviews, insightful and honest opinions, I love it!

All other general news. Always original content. Rarely do I see recycled "this rumor happened" and "this is coming out" like I do from literally every other blog.

Getting to know Android x.x.x. Perfect. Probably my favorite recurring thing on any blog ever.

Basically, what I'm trying to say, is thank you so much for putting out actual content. Thank you for not trying to get pageviews from "hot" titles and "latest rumors!" Thank you for trying to get pageviews from writing solid articles and putting thought into almost every post.

Seriously, I love you guys. I hope you can tell from all the upvotes and how many of your stories hit the front page! But even still, I wanted to let you know how absolutely grateful I am (and we all are)! Stick around, and keep up the fantastic work! We don't take it for granted, even if it might seem like it sometimes!

CONFIRMED. I voted for you and I am NOT a reasonable person.

      • RitishOemraw

Technically that doesn't confirm it. He never stated unreasonable people vote for him. He could go on with: "If you do vote for me than you're probably pretty reasonable too" But then in all caps. But seeing as you are unreasonable I would expect to be able to reason with you on this, guess you've won then. Well played (didn't know you were playing? neither did I)

This is like getting to pick which Android Police writer gets pelted with various things by all of his peers for the rest of the year... so I'm going to try to think of who my least favorite is. I'm going to have to go with Jeremiah, for not being on Twitter to talk AOKP with me. That jerk.

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/author/eric-ravenscraft/ Eric Ravenscraft

You seem to imply there's a situation where we're NOT pelting each other with various things all year...

      • John O’Connor

        Heavy pelting?

      • Freak4Dell

I read that as "petting each other." I didn't even think twice about it.

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

Isn't he t the dude behind Burrito Root?

        • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

          Among many others.

  • Dejin

Dave, for the masterful snark win.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1849765376 Jordan Rushing

Cameron hands down! He's not my favorite just because he's my brother-in-law, but out of Artem, Eric, and David, he writes the most badass articles that have sort of hilarious twist. I bet most people are probably like "Oh 5hit! He's right!" But still. He's one of the main reasons I still visit this site. Aside from David's humorous editorials.

But seriously, I love ALL you guys! Together you're the unstoppable Android Police team! Once you've got your lead you'll bring whatever it is to Android justice! Keep it up guys! You're my favorite and most liked writers ever! And it'll just keep getting better!

  • ScottColbert

This is like asking which of my testicles is my favorite, I'm attached to all of em!

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Cameron Summerson

Did you just liken us to your ballsack?

That may be the kindest gesture that has ever been directed at me.

      • Dylan Patel

I love the chemistry of you guys. Man y'all writers are like 11 balls in a sack.

        • http://codytoombs.wordpress.com/ Cody Toombs

That sounds like an extremely serious medical condition. Albeit, a very manly medical condition.

    • Abhisshack D

This is the best metaphoric comparison example i read this year , well done ^_^

  • John O’Connor

    So many choices. aaagh

  • Bruce Gavin Ward

my least favourites (note the 'u') are the ones who display a complete lack of ability to use the English language, or spellChecker, or to self edit. [oh, perhaps they speak "American" - is that a language?] The rest are fine, if smaller in number. I know, i know, not what you wanted.

    • Freak4Dell

There's no minimum character count here. Stop putting unnecessary letters in words.

  • br_hermon

Well I've got love for the entire AP crew but... Ron and Artem for their apk teardowns, Eric for his humor and David for his legal insights.

  • Athishay

It's a tie between Eric and Ron for me, but apparently we mortals can't decide who gets to win cuz Artem's votes (and trolling skills) are OVER 9000!

  • John

I believe this about as much as I believe the site redesign is coming =P

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

We already rolled it out. Did you not notice?

      • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Cameron Summerson

        hahahahahahahahaha, I loled.

  • br_hermon

Lol this might be the best thread of comments on an AP article yet!
You guys, all of you, rock!

  • L boogie

Sorry I'm treating this poll like a pack of Pringles, you just can't pick just one (though some might disagree) simply because every contributor has left their individual mark on this site, making it an epic win for us the readers.

  • nsnsmj

    All of the above

  • madmike318

Ron Paul would have won this internet poll...

  • Daniel Wiggins

ugh, I was so close to voting for Liam, and Eric and David and Ron. went with Cameron.

  • Sandeep

Hey I would love to see a modern design of AP.I really like Androidandme theme.Your's is very skeumorphic.

  • Ella Puerto

    IAmaN00bie :p

  • fissurez

I can't choose, so I'll just pick whoever's at the bottom to even everything out.
Artem will probably just move my vote to him anyway Xd

  • Max Barlow

I love GTKA,so it's got to be Ron!

  • ppero196

There should option: All of them
    Cause you guys rock!

  • Scott

lmfao, the bar just keeps going across the screen.

  • droidinakilt

Come on guys, this is like asking which of my parents to choose as my favorite at a divorce hearing........ Ron is awesome, because he is so pedantic it makes him have incredible attention to detail.

  • PCSievers

The best part of reading AP regularly is the game where you try and work out who wrote the article before you get to the signature bar at the bottom. Dont cheat and look under the article name and dont just play the numbers and guess Eric writes all the articles. Recognising via content, sentence structure and use of obscure TV and film references encouraged.

Edit, ok, second best part, the content of the articles is good too :p

    • http://codytoombs.wordpress.com/ Cody Toombs

Seriously, I've been doing this for the last year or so. There are a couple of people that are easy to pin down, and a couple that are nearly impossible. Of course, there are also times that you can guess just from the title.

      • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

Should we have a poll about this too? Who's easy to tell? Who's impossible? The mysteries!

  • Christopher Robert

lol funny... ha. but for reals Eric is the best.

  • tery_cota

I want to vote for both Ron and Artem, but decided to go for Artem. Both are cool and enjoy reading their articles.

  • Sycobob

My vote would have been for you Artem, but you used comprise incorrectly. This misdeed cannot go unpunished! *shakesfist*

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

I beg to differ: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/comprise. In fact, I'd argue that I used it correctly whereas "is comprised of" is incorrect, but commonly accepted.

      • Sycobob

Actually, "is comprised of" is (surprisingly) correct according to sense 3 in the link, and corroborated by http://oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/comprise?q=comprised. This usage is debated, though, and I thought it was incorrect until reading the usage discussion and looking around a bit.

As used in the article you are saying the parts comprise the whole. My understanding has always been that the whole comprises its parts and the part compose the whole. If sticking to these definitions, "the core team comprises the strongest 11 contributors" or "the strongest 11 compose the core team".

However, sense 3 really screws this up. Compose is listed explicitly as a definition making it correct to say both "the whole comprises its parts", AND "the parts comprise the whole", which is contradictory and silly. Now I'm just disappointed in the word comprise.

        • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

I feel and share your pain.

  • crankerchick

    Well played sir.
