Do you like sword fighting giant spiders, expansive worlds to explore, pickpocketing items from strangers, avoiding jail time, riding horses, sneaking around, gathering loot, switching from first- to -third-person at the tap of a button, choice-based questing systems, ragdoll physics, and ancient lore? Then I can think of two games you might be really interested in! One of them is Ravensword: Shadowlands!

ravensword1 ravensword2 ravensword3

The game is set in a fantasy landscape and sends the player on a mission to "solve the mysteries of the Kingdom of Tyreas." Presumably, these are different mysteries from the ones in the Kingdom of Aralon, which were addressed in Aralon: Sword and Shadow, a previous game from the same developer. Unfortunately, the direct prequel, Ravensword: The Fallen King is not available on Android.

Ravensword: Shadowlands is available on the Play Store for $7. If it's anything like that other game, you'll probably end up paying way more in time than you do in cash to play.

    Is there any IAP?

    • Steve Green

There is. Total ripoff for a $7 game.

  • GraveUypo

    does it work offline?

  • Kevin Aaronson

Is the game not loading after the tutorial for anybody else?

Hm, looks nice but I could use a gameplay video before shelling out more than 5€ on something I might end up uninstalling after an hour. It's a pity they didn't put in the the Play store listing; these things always make me kind of suspicious.

Just watched a couple gameplay vids on youtube and this game reminds me a tad of the first Gothic. Not quite the same flair to the world but looks very interesting for a mobile game.

The first Gothic had the most interesting world I have ever seen in a first person RPG next to Morrowind, if this game has even a fraction of the style it will be worth the money. Speaking of, Gothic would make a fantastic port for android if they could tame the awful control scheme.

        • firethorn

That's something I keep dreaming of in fact, but the rights for the Gothic IP are a very troubled issue... still, seeing this game makes me hopeful for the things we might see one or two years down the road.

Ok now this looks like the sort of game I'd shell out up to $15 for. But a couple of questions first - 1. Any IAP? I know a lot of developers are going for a low price and IAP, but a higher priced game like this shouldn't come with it (And if so, how hard do they push them). 2. How intense are the graphics in this? I am oh so very close to upgrading to a new phone (Looking at you, HTC One, unless Motorola brings out something equally as impressive) but currently running a Note (N7000). Not sure of how this would perform on my device.

Definitely has IAP. :/ Found the option to get 10k gold for 4.99. Game play so far is pretty good, with the occasional slow frame rate (only during battle so far). Loved the facial customizations! Overall I'm rather impressed, especially since it's not multiplayer so IAP only speeds things up for you. Haven't gotten far enough to see if that breaks the game or not or if you're required to spend money to get far.
