After all these years, two star-crossed lovers have finally found their way back into each others' loving arms. Of course I'm talking about AT&T and the LG Thrill 4G. The two started off as a hot couple, but despite their feelings for each other, they knew it just wouldn't work. After all, one was a major carrier, and the other but a simple smartphone. Still, after months apart, the two rekindled the relationship for a brief fling that resulted in the Thrill getting Gingerbread. Since then, the pair have barely spoken.

Today, AT&T has once again proclaimed its love the Thrill – it's giving it Ice Cream Sandwich. Yes, we were just as baffled as you are.

Much like the Gingerbread update, ICS comes to the Thrill via LG's Mobile Support Tool, not over-the-air. Once that's installed, a simple plug-and-check should push the update to your phone.

Who's to say how this love story will end – will our lovers commit to each other for the long haul, or is will this be one last fling before saying goodbye? Only time will tell.

For more info on the Thrill 4G ICS update, head over to AT&T's update page.

Makes me angry as a Droid 3 user. Motorola said the OMAP 4430 with only 512MB of RAM was too old to update to ICS. But LG can update the Thrill with an OMAP 4430 and 512MB of RAM.

I purchased this phone in Sept 2011. Great phone, however Froyo really held back its potential.
The Gingerbread update in Feb 2012 made great improvements in battery life and
boot-up time. Sticking with it, I'm glad the ICS update arrived. It's opened up
new possibilities with the Thrill and fixed a lot of the flaws.
