And here we are, 50 minutes later. Tickets for I/IO 2013 are officially sold out. Congrats to everyone who got one!

image

The day is here, boys and girls – I/O 2013 registration is open! Even at $900 a ticket ($300 for academic attendees), they sold out in 25 minutes last year. We expect the same thing to happen this year, so if you want to go, hopefully you waited until after you picked your ticket up to read this post.

If not, though, a couple of things to keep in mind: you'll need a Google+ account, as well as a Wallet account, to register.

What are you waiting for? Go!

I/O 2013 Registration

Update: For those who aren't going, this is the sight that many, many people are seeing right now:

Update #2: ...And the follow up to said screen:

Ouch. This isn't looking good. We're already 15 minutes in, tickets will be gone soon enough (if they're not already).

Update #3: Unless, of course, it actually finds a ticket...

    I'm waiting for a ticket, that's what I'm waiting for: http://i.imgur.com/F8PDwAI.png

  • justin c

clicked right when it opened and still waiting for an available ticket...

  • Ryan Craig

"Waiting for an available ticket...." ... sigh

  • RedPandaAlex

Internal Server Error. Who would have thought?

(Not actually trying to get a ticket. Just checking.)

  • Bas

Somebody buy me a flight ticket? :)

  • http://profiles.google.com/snoopyods Kevin Mcclain

Why you waste a full minute of my time internal server error?

  • Zach Latta

It's failed to find me a ticket two times so far. Crossing my fingers it'll find one this time.

    • http://profiles.google.com/snoopyods Kevin Mcclain

      Yeah, same for me.

  • http://twitter.com/navjotbatra Navjot

Does having a developer account increase chances of getting a ticket?

  • TRM

    3rd round, no luck yet

    • Jason Banich

I got a ticket, but then wallet shit out and I couldn't pay and it timed out: http://i.imgur.com/e19jJD1.png

      So back to no ticket

      • Zach Latta

Same happened to me. Check your Google Wallet. Is there a charge? I have a charge marked for Google IO, but it's processing.

      • Andrew Ruffolo

Same here. Wallet shows cancelled payment, Credit card still shows payment, but that probably haven't reversed it yet.

I sat through 4 queues before getting to that point, then had the same thing happen. I watched the entire 6 minutes tick away while the purchase didn't go through. 2 more waiting queues and I got lucky again. That time the purchase went through successfully. I'm sure I got really lucky.

  • Rex

Payment timed out after clicking on the buy button.

    • MrGadgetron

yep. filmed the whole thing. Such BS...

  • shadowx360

Like I said before. Registration opens and closes at 7:00:00.000 AM (PDT) sharp.

  • http://profiles.google.com/snoopyods Kevin Mcclain

    4th round. Here I go.

  • http://profiles.google.com/snoopyods Kevin Mcclain

    Extremely discouraging.

  • http://profiles.google.com/snoopyods Kevin Mcclain

    Well, a 5th try shouldn't hurt.

  • http://twitter.com/anjiecai anjiecai

    GOOGLE Y U NO LEARN?!

  • Tito!

And then we come to find everyone in Kansas City with Google Fiber owns a ticket. :(

I really just wanted to go for academic pricing!

    • Cherokee4Life

      lol

  • TRM

argh, timed out during payment, fffffuuuuuuuuuuuu...

    • MrGadgetron

Holly fuck ballss My timed out during payment TOO. I tried 3 times during it... OMFG. I even filmed it.. Just spinning!!! WTF!!

  • erikiksaz

Did any of you who scored a ticket get a confirmation email?

    • Sayed

You get a welcome confirmation email immediately

  • Александр Орлов

I see pending transaction on my google wallet and my CC got charged, but I haven't received any confirmation mail and timer on the page has ran out before it showed anything.

    • Zach Latta

Same thing happened to me. Going to give the CC company a call.

  • Mithra

I queued for an academic ticket just to see whether I would even be allocated anything. Then I was, now I'm conflicted.

  • TRM

but even then... it just times out

    • http://www.facebook.com/ScottStandishParkin Scott Standish-Parkin

the same damn thing happened to me! this freaking blows!

  • http://www.facebook.com/jelqzko Jelqzko Atanasov

I reached the timeout screen as well, but I won't be going this year (those plane tickets' prices and hotels =( ) but there are some tickets... just keep refreshing ;)

  • didibus

This ticket buying is like a DDOS attack to google's server

  • RitishOemraw

Additional stress on the servers as I tried to see if anything was available (I don't even have a Wallet account) Got nothing of course, but hey, at least now I can say I was a part of this :D

    :P

  • TRM

    ...aaaaand sold out

  • joeljfischer

timed out during payment. absolutely absurd.

  • Andrew Ruffolo

I would hope you guys got media passes... You did see that, didn't you?

  • http://www.facebook.com/ScottStandishParkin Scott Standish-Parkin

freaking had a damn ticket to purchase and then Google wallet didn't freaking process it! so the God*** page reloads and I lose out on the freaking chance to go. I'm so pissed.....freaking had the chance twice and I get screwed over. Not going to lie about how mad and depressed I am....Way to go Google wallet.

    ahahahah it's looks like it's the same that buying a n4 on the november 13th '12 !

  • dude2k5

    Got mine!

  • Brian Wang

Seems like there is a Google Wallet problem and most of the people got the ticket in the first half hour can not get through the Google Wallet even though the purchase has been approved by the credit card company. Those transactions are eventually cancelled by Google.

I encounter the same thing. Make you wonder how this thing can happen on a company call itself technology leader!

I couldn't get in at 7:00AM for an Academic pass. :(
