Sony's waterproof and dustproof flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z, is available to pre-order in the UK today from Three, although you'll have to wait until it's released on February 28th to get your hands on it yourself.

We first saw the 5-inch, 1080p phone last month at CES, and found ourselves impressed by its minimalist, elegant design. Water resistance comes at a price though, so you can expect to pay at least £34 a month if you want to take the phone home on a contract.

Three is offering two tariffs for the Xperia Z with unlimited data: the £34 Ultimate Internet 500 plan, which gives you 500 minutes and 5000 texts, and the £36 One Plan, which gives you 2000 minutes and the same amount of texts. Both of these contracts require an upfront payment of £69 for the phone itself.

If you don't fancy tying yourself up for 24 months, you can opt for a 30-day rolling contract instead. These start at £15 a month for 300 minutes, 3000 texts and unlimited data for 30 days. Of course, you'll have to buy the phone too, which will put you back £449.99.

If you're tempted by the Xperia Z, make sure you get to a physical Three store to seal the deal; the first 1000 customers to pre-order on a 24-month contract will receive a pair of Sony MDR-1R Prestige headphones worth £299.00. If you haven't got time to hit the high street, you can still pre-order from Three's online store.
