FINAL FANTASYII

Android Police coverage: Square Enix Releases Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy Dimensions, And Demon's Score THD On The Play Store

We've already seen the original Final Fantasy and an updated 3D version of Final Fantasy III hit the Play Store. If you can't stand having that gaping hole in your digital library, Final Fantasy II is now available in all its pixelated glory - and at Square's typically exorbitant price.

--

The highly anticipated follow-up to the original FINAL FANTASY, released in Japan in 1988. FINAL FANTASY II features the bitter and beautiful tale of four war-orphaned heroes who become embroiled in the conflict between the hostile Empire of Palamecia and the rebel resistance. Eschewing conventional leveling for a proficiency system that allows players to tailor their characters' growth, and incorporating a key term memory system that makes dialogue integral to gameplay, this game sparked the spirit of innovation for which the series has become known. This edition also contains the bonus dungeons added to later editions of the game--the Soul of Rebirth and the Arcane Labyrinth.

FINAL FANTASY DIMENSIONS

Android Police coverage: Square Enix Releases Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy Dimensions, And Demon's Score THD On The Play Store

If you've never heard of Final Fantasy Dimensions, don't worry, you're in plentiful company. The game is a new entry to the series developed for Japan's mobile systems in 2010, mixing elements of the classic pre-VII titles to form a new story. The Android release keeps the classic gameplay and fresh narrative, but be prepared to hand over all your Gil: the game is a whopping twenty dollars.

--

FINAL FANTASY DIMENSIONS is now available on Android. In addition to enhanced graphics and sound, this smartphone version also marks the title's overseas debut. Drawing upon the roots of the series with such features as beautiful 2-D pixel art, a battle system involving job change-based character growth and ability combinations, and a classic story of light, darkness, and crystals, FINAL FANTASY DIMENSIONS delivers the best of FINAL FANTASY, retro and fresh alike, directly to you.

DEMONS' SCORE THD

Android Police coverage: Square Enix Releases Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy Dimensions, And Demon's Score THD On The Play Store

Alright, see if you can keep up with this one: a hippie with a gun and her animate teddy bear take a Dante-style journey through hell to save her father. On the way they'll slay a handful of notable demons, all of whom appear to be sexy ladies with questionable fashion sense. Oh, and it's a rhythm game set to death metal music. Still interested? Did I mention you can only play it on a Tegra device? The wages of sin is death, but in order to play Demon's Score, you'll need twenty bones.

--

Get ready for off-the-hook break beat action. Surrender to the rhythm and tap like hell. Brave furious battles that combine stunning graphics and amazing background music. Try to completely conquer each stage by gaining the powers of Hell. First released in Fall 2012 for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, DEMONS' SCORE is now available on Google Play.

Note: This game can only be played on select devices equipped with a Tegra 3 CPU.

ExZeus 2

Android Police coverage: [New Game] After Significant Delays, HyperDevbox Finally Releases ExZeus 2

Giant robots fighting aliens - is there a more classic video game premise? The sequel to the popular full 3D shooter adds better graphics, more customization, and support for external controllers - and with as much screen-heavy action as this game has, you'll be happy for that. Currently, ExZues 2 is compatible with Tegra devices only.

--

2217 CE. Over one century has passed since the battle against the alien war machines. Earth has returned to peace and the name of Diadora is now nothing more than a dim memory. Not many remember the ExZeus project and the robots who saved the planet from darkness.  But a new menace from above was about to break the peace. There was only one way to counter this menace and restore hope: reopen the "ExZeus" project. The 3 former metal warriors who saved our planet were thus fused to give birth to a new powerful model of robot, Minos.

Sacred Guns

Android Police coverage: In 'Sacred Guns', You're An Afro-Sporting Angel Defending Noah The Pirate's Ark From Teletubbies Because AWESOME

If you've ever had the urge to give Pikachu a shell of buckshot to the face, then Sacred Guns is for you. You're a completely awesome angel (you can tell by the afro!) defending Noah's Ark from the abominations of the earth - which basically means every annoyingly cute pop culture icon from the last 20 years. The turret shooter lets you squash Spongebob, headshot Teletubbies, and double-tap Winnie the Pooh. Watch the video below, right now  - it's 98 seconds you won't regret. Here's hoping for some My Little Pony DLC.

--

Defend Noah's Ark from God's unwanted creations. When God decided to send a Great Flood to wipe sin from Earth, he assigned Noah to construct the Ark to keep him and the animals safe from harm... and YOU, the Archangel Mark Leung, to keep His unwanted creations out of the Ark. Wield up to 5 angelic weapons and keep Noah's Ark clean from those filthy, forsaken creatures--those that are too depraved, too ugly or too sickeningly cheerful to be saved. May your guns blaze righteously. Amen.

Autumn Walk

Android Police coverage: 'Autumn Walk', Sequel To 'Winter Walk', Wants To Take You For—Can You Guess?—A Walk

Yeah, we don't get it either. Autumn Walk is exactly what it sounds like: a simulator of an invigorating stroll. That's it. Oh sure, you can dress up your dapper character, but all he'd be doing in those fancy clothes is alternately dragging and being dragged by a pixelated dog. It's sort of an endless runner... without the run part.

--

Try to control your canine as you enjoy a walk full of cogitations & curiosities. Autumn Walk is a quirky little game about walking your dog and is suitable for ladies and gentlemen of all ages and occupations. Lovingly crafted for all you gorgeous people by Monster and Monster - Purveyors of fine interactive wares and exquisitely made cups of tea. The Pyraplex

Android Police coverage: [New Game] Kairosoft Releases The Pyraplex, Walks Like An Egyptian All The Way To The Bank

Dedicated Kairosoft fans don't even need to read this - the fact that there's a new game out is reason enough to put your money down. For everyone else, Pyraplex is an Egyptian/Arabian themed take on the Tiny Tower formula, tasking the player with building a pyramid. These prisms aren't tombs, but something between a government building and a shopping mall.

--

Transcend the boundaries of space and time to construct a colossal new wonder of the world in this pyramid-building adventure. Make history with the Pyraplex, a desert oasis of commerce and culture far ahead of its time. You may attract visitors ranging from Aztec chiefs to Roman centurions to wayfarers even further from home. Cultivate trade with these civilizations and more to enrich your culture as well as your coffers. Keep your bazaar buzzing by adding amenities and making handicrafts. While quarrying building stones, you'll also unearth hidden treasures with a variety of uses. Of course, building a new wonder of the world is no easy task, so expect an annual evaluation by the Pyramid Association to keep you on track. You'll have to design with both form and function in mind if you want to tower above the rest.

Eufloria HD

Android Police coverage: Chill Out: 10 Ambient Games To Help You Survive The Holidays

OK, this one's a little hard to explain: in Eufloria, you play as a spacefaring species of plant. With me so far? Get a few spores together on a likely-looking M-class planet, and you can start a plant, which creates more spores. Send enough of them to new planets and you can colonize it, too. There are a handful of different plants you can create for expansion or defense, but the soothing atmosphere remains relatively constant. If it seems a tad expensive, try the demo first.

--

Experience “Eufloria HD”, an incredibly addictive ambient strategy game that anyone can play. Explore a beautifully realized universe rendered in a style that is unique and compelling. Experience space exploration, conquest, plant growth and bio mechanical evolution. Conquer asteroids in deep space and use their resources to grow and nurture semi-organic plants and creatures to do your bidding. Plan your strategy against AI opponents that all vie for the same resources and offer fierce opposition. Eufloria HD is easy to learn, and enjoyable to master. It’s a game for everyone. Try it now.

Anomaly Korea

Android Police coverage: 11 bit studios Releases Sequel To Popular Anomaly Warzone Tower 'Attack' Game: Anomaly Korea

Anomaly Warzone is probably the Crysis of tower defense, if such a cross-platform analogy can survive. The latest addition to the franchise shifts the setting to a post-modern Korea complete with aliens. The signature gameplay - a formula that's basically the reverse of standard tower defense - remains intact, as do the stunning visuals.

--

Thrilling portable strategy is back. The sequel to the critically acclaimed ‘Anomaly Warzone Earth’. The alien robots are back and this time they’ve got Korea in their sights. It’s your job to lead a squad into fierce fire-fights and fend off the alien invasion. Plan your routes carefully and use new units and powers to turn the tide of war against a horde of new enemy threats. This isn’t tower defense it’s tower offense.

Have you ever thought that Team Fortress 2 could use more Care Bears? Then Battle Bears Royale is for you, psycho. Multiple classes make this over-the-shoulder shooter equal parts action and strategy. Pudding Monsters

The Cut The Rope guys are back, this time with a game that's at least as charming and original as their first. In Pudding Monsters, you play, well, a pudding monster, whose only aim is to eat smaller monsters and expand, Katamari-style. Where's My Holiday?

Android Police coverage: Disney Releases Nemo's Reef, It's A Small World Live Wallpaper, And Where's My Holiday? All In One Go

You know how Where's My Water and Where's My Perry work: Disney's mobile magnum opus tasks players with making a patch for water to flow. Where's My Holiday is exactly the same thing, with winter-themed levels (it's a wonder the water hasn't already frozen in the pipes).

--

Swampy and Perry need help – are you up to the challenge? Swampy is a little different than other alligators in the sewers and he loves to take showers. Cut through dirt and guide water to Swampy’s shower across six challenging levels but keep an eye out for algae, tricks and traps. Sonic Jump

Android Police coverage: SEGA Releases Sonic Jump For Android, A Retro-Style Vertical Platformer

Jumping isn't usually Sonic the Hedgehog's pastime of choice, but Sega's entry to the genre wouldn't be complete without its spiky blue star. Play as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles as they bounce skyward, collecting rings and avoiding iconic Sonic baddies in this Doodle Jump-style Java port.

--

UberStrike: The FPS

Android Police coverage: [New Game] UberStrike Hits The Google Play Store With PC, iOS And Android Cross-Platform Play [Update]

UberStrike is the most popular Quake clone on Facebook, at least to hear the developers tell it, and they're ecstatic to bring the Unity-powered shooter to Android. Your basic deathmatch FPS is augmented with plenty of weapons and some OK graphics, though there's reason to be wary: one, there's a lot of pushing towards in-app purchases. And two, the game appears to be exclusive to the Tegra 3, at least for now.

--

Battle against over 8 million in the most epic multiplayer FPS on Android. Over 8 Million Players worldwide.

OverLight - Alpha

Android Police coverage: [New Game] OverLight Alpha Lets You Have Fun With Lasers, Without The Warning Labels

Lasers make everything better. That's the maxim of many an eye patch aficionado, and Overlight, an interesting take on the sliding block puzzle. You control a set of lasers that heat up and refract through glass, eventually shattering it.  There's a fair bit of eye candy as well, and a free demo for the stingy types. By the way, stick around till the end of the video below for a nice laugh.

--

Addictive game with an unique concept using glass blocks and laser beams. Note: The game is currently in alpha stage and still under active development - new features are constantly added (consider the paid version to get all of them and get them first) as the project moves towards the final version. This is also excellent time to provide feedback and suggestions. OverLight is an addictive game with an unique concept using glass blocks and laser beams - you break the right blocks, lasers get redirected and intersect, overheat and explode the blocks for which you receive points. You can even chain the explosions into combos, but you must think fast, the clock is ticking. Your goal is old classic: Get as many points as possible.

Dueling Blades

Most 3D fighters tend toward fast-paced button mashing, but in a change of pace, Dueling Blades is actually turn-based. It makes for a strategic take on to the genre, and perhaps more significantly, doesn't suffer from control issues. Customizable characters, multiple classes, and online multiplayer round out an interesting spin on the 3D fighter.

--

Duel against live players in this 3D Fantasy Action Strategy game. Crush your opponents using skill and strategy in Dueling Blades. You can level up and advance your fully customizable 3D character with skills, armor, weapons and classes. Battle against live opponents in 1 vs 1 strategic combat and rise up in the Ranking System. Enjoy the story and battle against Bandits, Pirates, and the Undead whom threaten the peaceful village of Willowsbrook and raise your weapon against the tyranny of the corrupted kingdom in the single player challenges. Duel your friends or match up against similarly skilled opponents via the balanced matching system. Dueling Blades is brought to you by HourBlast Games and 6waves Lolapps.

C.H.A.O.S Tournament

CHAOS Tournament is the multiplayer add-on to just plain CHAOS, a helicopter battle game that's amassed over a hundred thousand downloads. You can convert your helicopters, weapons, and other upgrades from the main game if you've got it installed, including real-world models like the Black Hawk, Hind, and Comanche. For those who want the real deal, the paid HD version is just a dollar.

--

C.H.A.O.S Tournament - is your opportunity to go through the new military adventure in the sky, but in an even more rigorous and competitive environment. If you are an experienced pilot - test your fighting skills, fighting on the rigid rules of our tournaments with those who already have significant experience in the management of helicopter gunships. If you're new - prove that you are a rising star, or ... or fall from the sky. The motto of the CHAOS Tournament: In the sky, there will be only one.

Turret Commander

Turret shooter in a WW2 setting? The phrase "the whole nine yards" comes to mind. Turret Commander puts you in the gunner seat of a B-17, with nothing better to do than shoot bad guys out of the sky. You won't be flying (which is almost a mercy with mobile controls) but twenty missions and an endless survival mode should keep things interesting.

--

The most realistic aerial shooting game on mobile. Get behind the powerful tail guns in the turret of a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber in this high-octane 3D shooter and blast the enemy planes out of the sky. Experience the blistering-hot, immersive action of aerial dog fighting as never before when you become the Turret Commander. Your bomber is under attack from all directions, and the only thing keeping it in the air is a rain of red-hot bullets streaming from your turret guns. Keep your plane flying, and you and your colleagues alive as you battle it out in the skies against dozens of enemy aircraft.

Roblade:Design&Fight

I was a big fan of Battlebots back in junior high school. I paid twenty dollars, no small sum for a sixth grader, for the official Battlebots computer game. It was terrible. While Roblade shares a lot of the same elements, you won't get the same sense of buyers' remorse, since it's free. A drag-and-drop design element lets you customized your mechanize destructobot before sending it into battle.

--

Roblade: Extreme Freedom of Assembly.Unlimited fights with your own designed robot. Roblade combines the two worlds of robot design and fast paced fighting. It allows you to design your own robots using different parts, and then bring them to life by designing any fight action you can imagine. Let them fight different enemies in the arena to earn coins, use coins to upgrade your robots or buy new parts, such as weapons, batteries, or a rocket launcher.

Carnivores: Ice Age

Just call this "Cabela's Big Game Hunter: 10,000 BC Edition".

--

Man up and go on sub-zero prehistoric safari in huge open 3D world. Epic winter hunting finally on Android. Carnivores: Ice Age throws you onto a recently discovered planet to test your aiming and tactical skills on a realistic ice safari. The game delivers an intelligent hunting experience and offers a lot more than a visit to a shooting range. Unrivaled possibility to wander around open 3D world without limits makes the process of finding prey exciting and the whole game endlessly replayable.

What kind of a list is this w/ no Demons Score, FFII and FF Dimensions?

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

Damnit, that was my bad. I have been keeping track of all the games, and somehow forgot to add those 3 to the list, even though I added an individual TODO for the post we did last week. Argh. Adding now, albeit too late.
